Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effect of postoperative chemotherapy on the survival of surgically treated patients with T1b uterine cervical cancer.

Methods: Overall, 1687 patients with T1b cervical cancer who received concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) or chemotherapy as postoperative adjuvant therapy were retrospectively analyzed using the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology cancer registry program data from 2015 to 2016. After propensity score matching, overall survival (OS) was compared between 643 patients treated with CCRT and 643 patients treated with chemotherapy.

Acute ST-segment elevations following paclitaxel administration for uterine cervical cancer: a case report and literature review.

We herein report a rare case of ST-segment elevation following the administration of paclitaxel for uterine cervical cancer and review the literature regarding paclitaxel-induced cardiac ischemia.

Perioperative Serum Creatinine Change and Delayed Urologic Complications Following Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for Benign Indications.

Objectives: The objective of the study was to investigate the association between perioperative serum creatinine change and delayed urologic complications following total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) for benign indications.

Materials And Methods: A total of 510 cases (503 cases without delayed urologic injuries and 7 cases with delayed urologic injuries) in which TLH was performed for benign indications were retrospectively reviewed. The patient characteristics and surgical outcomes were compared between patients with and without delayed urologic injuries.

Comparison of symptomatic unstable ankle with and without os subfibulare.

Background: This study aimed to compare the patients background, clinical scores, condition of the lateral ligament, mechanical instabilities, and chondral lesions in ankles with symptomatic os subfibulare compared to those in ankles with chronic lateral instability without os subfibulare.

Methods: Of the 212 ankles with a chronic lateral instability that were surgically treated, 72 ankles had an os subfibulare. All ankles were examined by arthroscopy during surgery.

Development of an assessment scale for engagement in activities for patients with moderate to severe dementia.

Background: Various types of therapy, including occupational therapy, are utilised for the treatment of moderate to severe dementia. In order to determine the optimal rehabilitation strategy for such patients and examine the treatment efficacy, an assessment scale for engagement in various group activities that can be easily applied in clinical situations is required. We herein report the development of the Assessment Scale for Engagement in Activities (ASEA) and its clinical utility.

The present study was a phase I/II study of gemcitabine, levofolinate, irinotecan, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) (GLIF) combination chemotherapy to determine optimal dosages, safety, and efficacy.

Methods: Taxane/platinum-resistant or -refractory endometrial disease was defined as tumor progression within 6 months after a taxane/platinum-based regimen.

Aims: Vagal responses such as marked bradycardia or a rapid blood pressure decrease are often observed during pulmonary vein (PV) isolation of atrial fibrillation (AF) using a cryoballoon (CB). However, the relationship between the marked vagal response and change in the heart rate variability (HRV) as a marker of the autonomic tone is not well understood.

Few objective biological measures of pharmacological treatment efficacy exist for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Although we have previously demonstrated that event-related potentials (ERPs) reflect the effects of osmotic-release methylphenidate in treatment of naïve pediatric patients with ADHD, whether this is true for the therapeutic effects of atomoxetine (ATX) is unknown. Here, we used the Japanese version of the ADHD rating-scale IV to evaluate 14 patients with ADHD, and compared their ERP data with 14 age- and sex-matched controls.

The purpose of this study was to determine the outcomes and optimal practice patterns of definitive radiotherapy for primary vaginal cancer. Between 1993 and 2012, 49 patients were treated with definitive radiotherapy for primary vaginal cancer in three hospitals.
