An external electric field is an effective tool to induce the polymorphic transformation of molecular crystals, which is important practically in the chemical, material, and energy storage industries. However, the understanding of this mechanism is poor at the molecular level. In this work, two types of order parameters (OPs) were constructed for the molecular crystal based on the intermolecular distance, bond orientation, and molecular orientation.

Vesicovaginal fistula is one of the most common types of female genitourinary fistulas encountered in clinical practice, and its treatment is determined by the disease characteristics and at the discretion of the attending physician. The present study describes a unique conservative approach to the management of vesicovaginal fistulas. A 56-year-old woman developed a vesicovaginal fistula after laparoscopic hysterectomy.

A new metal-free oxidative [2+2+1] heteroannulation of 1,7-enynes with thiocyanates for producing thieno[3,4-c]quinolin-4(5H)-ones is presented. This reaction employs benzoylperoxide (BPO) as the oxidant and sodium thiocyanate as the sulfur source to enable the formation of three chemical bonds, two C-S bonds and one C-C bond, in a single reaction, and represents a new, practical access to S-heterocycles with the avoidance of the use of metal catalysts and excess bases.

Objective: To provide the radiation-induced technical reference and theoretical basis for safflower and other medicinal plants.

Method: Seeds of Carthamus tinctorius were irradiated with 60Cogamma-ray, and germination rate of seeds, germination, seedling rate and seedling height, root length, fresh weight, root activity and peroxide catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were determined.

Result And Conclusion: The LD50 of radiation dose is about 300 Gy, effects of seeds irradiation with 6Co-gamma-ray on shoot growth and physiological status of C.

The genuine and false Flos Rosae Rugosae (Flos Rosae Chinensis and Flos Rosa multiflora) were examined in terms of their differences by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) combined with two-dimensional (2D) correlation IR spectroscopy. The three species were shown very similar in FTIR spectra. The peak of 1318 cm(-1) of genuine Flos Rosae Rugosae is not obvious but this peak could be found sharp in Flos Rosae Chinensis and Flos Rosa multiflora.
