Anti-spring mechanisms are widely used for improving the noise performance of MEMS accelerometers due to their stiffness softening effect. However, the existing mechanisms typically require large bias force and displacement for achieving stiffness softening, leading to large device dimensions. Here, we propose a novel anti-spring mechanism composed of two pre-shaped curved beams connected in a parallel configuration, which can achieve stiffness softening without requiring large bias force and displacement.

Methods: A total of 72 patients with postpartum diastasis recti abdominis were randomly divided into an observation group (36 cases, 3 cases excluded) and a control group (36 cases, 3 cases dropped out). In the control group, the autonomous functional exercise was performed on the rectus abdominis.

Acupuncture is one of the most effective complementary therapies for allergic rhinitis (AR) and has been recommended by several clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for AR. However, these CPGs mentioned acupuncture without making recommendations for clinical implementation and therapeutic protocols, therefore limiting the applicability of acupuncture therapies for AR. Hence, for the benefit of acupuncture practitioners around the world, the World Federation of Acupuncture-moxibustion Societies have initiated a project to develop the CPG for the use of acupuncture and moxibustion to treat AR.

Background: Sacral alar-iliac screws (SAISs) have been used for sacroiliac joint and are superiority to traditional sacroiliac screws (SISs) in patients with low bone density. The aim of this study was to investigate the operation safety and biomechanical stability of the SIS, transsacral-transiliac screw (TSTIS), S1AIS and S2AIS in the treatment of sacroiliac joint in simulated models of low bone density.

Methods: CT data from 80 normal pelvic structures were employed to measure the anatomical parameters, including the safety zones of the S1AIS and S2AIS at the insertion point and the trajectory lengths of the SIS, TSTIS, S1AIS and S2AIS.

Realization of large transmitted optical Goos-Hänchen shifts in photonic crystal slabs.

In this letter, we demonstrate the existence of large transmitted optical positive and negative Goos-Hänchen shifts in photonic crystal slabs numerically and experimentally. The Goos-Hänchen shift we observed directly reaches ∼20 μm, which is 30 times the wavelength, approaching the radius of the beam waist. To explain this phenomenon, we measure the transmission phase through the phase measurement system and find there is an acute phase change near the resonance in photonic crystal slabs, which enhances the Goos-Hänchen shift.
