The three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D CRT) plays an important role in the combination treatment of esophageal carcinoma. However, an accurate estimation of the clinical target volume (CTV) of esophageal squamous carcinoma (ESCC) by 3D CRT is still problematic.
