Purpose: To clarify neonatal bacterial infection management in near term and term infants at a regional hospital in Japan.
Methods: Between 2018 and 2020, of 729 births, 236 patients who underwent blood examination at least twice by the age of 3 days, were included. Data from the medical records were analyzed retrospectively.
The efficacy and toxicity of combination chemotherapy with docetaxel + carboplatin were evaluated in patients with locally advanced or recurrent cervical cancer. A total of 71 patients with cervical cancer were enrolled into this trial, and 66 patients were considered eligible. The patients were administered docetaxel at 60 mg/m2 followed by carboplatin based on area under the curve of 6, both by intravenous infusion, every 3 weeks, with the treatment repeated for 1 to 6 cycles depending on the goal of the therapy.

Methods: Ovaries obtained from pre-menopausal women were used for immunohistochemistry and semiquantitative RT-PCR analysis.
Results: Immunoreactive HB-EGF was not detected in follicles or oocyte, while HB-EGF became apparent in granulosa luteal cells in the early luteal phase, and most abundant in the mid-luteal phase, but less abundant in the late luteal phase.
Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the comparative effects of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF) on the growth of cultured human leiomyoma cells and myometrial cells.
Methods: Isolated cells were subcultured in Phenol Red-free Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum for 120 h and then stepped down to serum-free conditions for an additional 24 and 48 h in the presence or absence of graded concentrations of HB-EGF (0.1, 1, 10 and 100 ng/ml).
The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the progesterone receptor modulator CDB-2914 on proliferative activity and apoptosis in cultured human uterine leiomyoma cells. Isolated leiomyoma cells were subcultured in phenol red-free DMEM supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum for 120 h and then stepped down to serum-free conditions for 12, 24, 48, and 96 h in the absence or presence of graded concentrations of CDB-2914 (10(-9), 10(-8), 10(-7), and 10(-6) M). The number of viable cultured leiomyoma cells was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazodium bromide assay.

The present study was conducted to clarify the expression of BTC and its receptors, ErbB-1 and ErbB-4, in the trophoblasts in the human placenta over the course of pregnancy.
Design And Methods: Human placental tissues were obtained from 4 pregnant women at the 4th to 5th week of pregnancy (very early placentas), 10 women at the 6th to 12th week (early placentas), 5 women at the 18th to 21st week (mid placentas) and 8 women at the 38th and 40th week (term placentas).
Background: Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) plays crucial roles in uterine leiomyoma cell growth through stimulating proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis. The present study was conducted to elucidate whether progesterone affects IGF-I and its receptor expression in cultured leiomyoma cells.
Methods: Isolated leiomyoma cells were subcultured in Phenol Red-free Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum for 120 h and then stepped down to serum-free conditions for an additional 48 h in the presence or absence of 17beta-estradiol (E(2)) (10 ng/ml) or progesterone (100 ng/ml).
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous disorder in which chronic anovulation is a common feature despite the presence of multiple micro- structures in the ovaries. A growing body of evidence has suggested that serum hyperinsulinemia contributes to the excess ovarian androgen secretion observed in women with PCOS. The standard therapy for anovulatory women with PCOS is oral administration of clomiphene citrate (CC).

The inhibitory effect of GnRH agonist on Proliferating cell nuclear antigen positive rate of cultured cells was prominent in granulosa cells from small and medium but not from large follicles. By contrast, the inhibitory effect of GnRH agonist on 17beta-estradiol and progesterone secretion by cultured cells was prominent in granulosa cells from large but not from small and medium follicles.
