The prognosis of patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is still poor, and the 5-year survival rate in patients undergoing radical surgery (R0) is less than one-third. Since the prognosis depends mainly on tumor factors, so early diagnosis is necessary. To extend the survival time of these patients with a poor prognosis, cases of long-term survival were examined based on the results of our experiences and the literature.

We report a rare case of duplication of the transverse colon in an adult. A 26-year-old male presented to our hospital with upper left abdominal pain and fever. An abdominal computed tomography scan revealed an inflammatory mass in the gastrocolic ligament.

We detected Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation in a patient with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The patient, a 53-year-old Japanese man, had been referred to our hospital because of generalized lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly and lymphocytosis and gave a history of intense skin reactions to mosquito bites. The biopsied lymph node contained a monotonous proliferation of medium-sized lymphocytes with scant cytoplasm and slightly irregular nuclei that were CD5+, CD20+ and CD23-.

A 41-year-old woman developed two subcutaneous pleomorphic adenomas on her face. Pleomorphic adenoma usually arises as a benign tumour of a major salivary gland and often develops multifocally within the gland. These two pleomorphic adenomas originated in the subcutaneous layer of the face, also multifocally.
