Introduction: A retroperitoneoscopic procedure for bladder neck closure has not yet been described.
Case Presentation: Case 1 was a 56-year-old man who underwent clean intermittent catheterization for spastic paraplegia due to a thoracic spinal cord injury 37 years prior. Case 2 was an 80-year-old bedridden woman who underwent urethral catheterization after a femoral fracture and brain infarction 3 years prior.
Background: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is the standard treatment for early gastric neoplasms (EGN). Controlling intraoperative bleeding is crucial for ensuring safe and reliable procedures. ESD using the spray coagulation mode (SCM-ESD) has been developed to control bleeding more effectively than ESD using the conventional forced coagulation mode (FCM-ESD).

Disorders of sex development (DSD) comprises a congenital condition in which chromosomal, gonadal, or anatomical sex development is atypical. In this study, we screened for pathogenic variants in 32 genes associated with DSDs and central causes of hypogonadism (CHG) in a whole-genome reference panel including 8380 Japanese individuals constructed by Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization. Candidate pathogenic (P) or likely pathogenic (LP) variants were extracted from the ClinVar, InterVar, and Human Gene Mutation databases.

Elucidating this relationship can inform dietary guidance for reproductive age women with menstrual pain. The aim of this study was to clarify the relationship between fish intake frequency/preference and menstrual pain.

However, clinical evidence indicates that PARP inhibitors are also effective for treating HRD-negative ovarian cancer. The PARP inhibitor olaparib became available in Japan as a maintenance therapy for platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer regardless of homologous recombination status in April 2018.

Design: Prospective cohort study.
MicroRNA-152 (miR-152) expression has been reported to be associated with poor prognosis in patients with endometrial serous carcinoma (ESC). However, the function of miR-152 in ESCs is not fully understood. The present study aimed to investigate the involvement of miR-152 in ESC progression.

However, this process has not been well characterized in the non-invasive type of implantation that occurs in ruminants. To understand whether EMT occurs in ruminant ungulates, ovine conceptuses (embryo plus extraembryonic membranes) from days 15 (P15: pre-attachment), 17 (P17: during attachment), and 21 (P21: post-attachment, day 0 = day of estrus) were evaluated.

However, it is known that abnormal ploidy still does not completely abandon embryo development and implantation. To explore the potential of cytoplasm from those abnormally fertilized oocytes, we developed a novel technique for the transfer of large cytoplasm between pronuclear-stage mouse embryos, and assessed its impact.

Although the superiority of hybrid ESD with SOUTEN, a single multifunctional device, over conventional ESD has been indicated, the actual effect of snaring itself remains unclear since SOUTEN could be applied to hybrid ESD group, but not to the conventional ESD group, due to ethical issue in clinical practice.
Aim: To determine whether and how hybrid ESD was superior to conventional ESD in the endoscopic treatment of gastric lesions in an porcine model basic study.
Bone dysplasias are a group of rare hereditary diseases, with up to 436 disease types. Perinatal diagnosis is clinically important for adequate personalized management and counseling. There are no reports focused on pathogenic variants of bone dysplasias in the general population.

Many endoscopic closure techniques have been reported; however, they often require the use of special devices. We developed a single-channel endoscopic closure technique (SCCT) that can be performed with conventional devices.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 582 consecutive patients with primary NMIBC. The efficacy of preoperative RDW at predicting treatment outcome was assessed.
We have developed an automated device for the measurement of oxygen consumption rate (OCR) called Chip-sensing Embryo Respiratory Measurement system (CERMs). To verify the safety and the significance of the OCR measurement by CERMs, we conducted comprehensive tests using a mouse model prior to clinical trials in a human in vitro fertilization (IVF) program. Embryo transfer revealed that the OCR measured by CERMs did not compromise the full-term development of mice or their future fertility, and was positively correlated with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production and the mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm), thereby indirectly reflecting mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) activity.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the records of 720 patients diagnosed with primary NMIBC between 2002 through 2018 at the Kameda Medical Center. The primary outcome measure was time to recurrence.
Introduction: The present study aims to introduce laparoscopic treatment by the interposition of polypropylene mesh for a pelvic organ prolapse in females following radical cystectomy for treating muscle-invasive bladder carcinoma.
Case Presentation: The patients included two women aged 77 and 79 years with symptomatic enterocele following radical cystectomy and ileal conduit urinary diversion. We performed laparoscopic sacrospinous colpopexy using polypropylene and polypropylene/ePTFE composite meshes.
Introduction: Surgical manipulation of a pheochromocytoma carries the risk of releasing catecholamines into bloodstream leading to severe intraoperative hypertension.
Case Presentation: We present three patients with right adrenal pheochromocytoma over 10 cm diameter: a 40-year-old woman, 63-year-old man, and 66-year-old woman. They were diagnosed by 123I-MIBG scintigraphy and received preoperative antihypertensive treatment with 16 mg/day of doxazosin.
Epigenome regulates gene expression to determine cell fate, and accumulation of epigenomic aberrations leads to diseases, including cancer. NCD38 inhibits lysine-specific demethylase-1 (LSD1), a histone demethylase targeting H3K4me1 and H3K4me2, but not H3K4me3. In this study, we conjugated NCD38 with a potent small molecule called pyrrole (Py) imidazole (Im) polyamide, to analyze whether targets of the inhibitor could be regulated in a sequence-specific manner.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFStudy Question: Does a new system-the chip-sensing embryo respiration monitoring system (CERMs)-enable evaluation of embryo viability for potential application in a clinical IVF setting?
Summary Answer: The system enabled the oxygen consumption rate of spheroids, bovine embryos and frozen-thawed human embryos to be measured, and this rate corresponded to the developmental potential of embryos.
What Is Already Known: To date, no reliable and clinically suitable objective evaluation methods for embryos are available, which circumvent the differences in inter-observer subjective view. Existing systems such as the scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) technique, which enables the measurement of oxygen consumption rate in embryos, need improvement in usability before they can be applied to a clinical setting.
