Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) is an important crop used for edible food and medicinal usage. Drought annually brings reduction in crop yield and quality, causing enormous economic losses. Transcription factors are often involved in the regulation of plant responses to environmental stresses.

Methods: EBSCO, PubMed, Web of Science, and China Knowledge Network databases (core) were searched up to August 1, 2023. Experimental studies of implementing OEP based on digital technology to improve outcomes related to falls in the elderly were included.
Background: Leisure activity was associated with depression in older adults. However, the specific processes by which diet and cognition mediate the role of leisure activities and depression remain uncertain. The study aims to investigate the relationship between leisure activity and depression in older people and the underlying mechanisms involved, while constructing a comprehensive model that links these variables.

Due to cost constraints, only a small fraction of all possible perturbations can be tested in vitro. This has led to the development of computational models that can predict cellular responses to perturbations in silico.

A comprehensive understanding of the disease burden of gastric cancer is crucial for developing effective prevention and treatment strategies. However, comprehensive global assessments of the disease burden of gastric cancer remain limited.

Several investigators demonstrated that MC-LR exerts pulmonary toxicity, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether exposure to MC-LR-induced lung inflammation and examine the underlying mechanisms.

Previous studies have shown that herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) pUL15 can enter the nucleus without other viral proteins and help other terminase subunits enter the nucleus. However, this study revealed that duck plague virus (DPV) pUL15 cannot localize independently to the nucleus and can only be localized in the nucleus in the presence of pUL28 and pUL33.

Methods: Analysis included multivariate linear and logistic regression, smoothing curve fitting, and threshold effect evaluation using 2003-2010 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data. The stability of this relationship across demographic groups was assessed via subgroup analyses and interaction tests.

Background: Ortholog prediction, essential for various genomic research areas, faces growing inconsistencies amidst the expanding array of ortholog databases. The common strategy of computing consensus orthologs introduces additional arbitrariness, emphasizing the need to examine the causes of such inconsistencies and identify proteins susceptible to prediction errors.
Results: We introduce the Signal Jaccard Index (SJI), a novel metric rooted in unsupervised genome context clustering, designed to assess protein similarity.
The process of new drug development is complex, whereas drug-disease association (DDA) prediction aims to identify new therapeutic uses for existing medications. However, existing graph contrastive learning approaches typically rely on single-view contrastive learning, which struggle to fully capture drug-disease relationships. Subsequently, we introduce a novel multi-view contrastive learning framework, named CDPMF-DDA, which enhances the model's ability to capture drug-disease associations by incorporating diverse information representations from different views.

Background: Patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) are rare in China and differ significantly from the Caucasian populations in terms of clinical and genetic characteristics. However, the progression and mortality of Chinese patients with CF have not been well described.
Results: This study included all 67 patients from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital CF cohort, with a median followed up time of 5.
Background: Pseudorabies virus (PRV), porcine parvovirus (PPV) and porcine circovirus 3 (PCV3) are common in swine farms in China. Single infection or co-infection with PRV, PPV and/or PCV3 was difficult to distinguish between their clinical symptoms and pathological changes. Therefore, a quick and accurate detection method is needed for epidemiological surveillance, disease management, import and export control.

This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) toward vocal fatigue among occupational voice users.
Methods: This web-based cross-sectional study was conducted among occupational voice users between July and October 2023 in Shenzhen People's Hospital, utilizing a self-administered questionnaire to examine the KAP of vocal fatigue.
Objectives: To compare the stress distribution and crack propagation in cracked mandibular first molar restored with onlay, overlay, and two types of occlusal veneers using two different CAD/CAM materials by Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Materials And Methods: A mandibular first molar was digitized using a micro CT scanning system in 2023. Three-dimensional dynamic scan data were transformed, and a 3D model of a cracked tooth was generated.
Background: Neonates are prone to experiencing acute kidney injury (AKI) and metabolic irregularities. Although hemodialysis is a primary treatment for these conditions, its utilization is not prevalent in the Ningxia Autonomous Region in China. Peritoneal dialysis (PD) presents itself as an alternative with benefits such as simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and minimal technical complexity compared to hemodialysis.

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is a type of non-coding RNA distinguished by a length exceeding 200 nucleotides. Recent studies indicated that lncRNAs participate in various biological processes, such as chromatin remodeling, transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation, and the modulation of cell proliferation, death, and differentiation, hence influencing gene expression and cellular function. A central paradigm of nonequilibrium physics concerns the dynamics of heterogeneity and disorder, impacting processes ranging from the behavior of glasses to the emergent functionality of active matter. Understanding these complex mesoscopic systems requires probing the microscopic trajectories associated with irreversible processes, the role of fluctuations and entropy growth, and the timescales on which nonequilibrium responses are ultimately maintained. Approaches that illuminate these processes in model systems may enable a more general understanding of other heterogeneous nonequilibrium phenomena, and potentially define ultimate speed and energy cost limits for information processing technologies.
