As artificial intelligence technology rapidly advances, its deployment within the medical sector presents substantial ethical challenges. Consequently, it becomes crucial to create a standardized, transparent, and secure framework for processing medical data. This includes setting the ethical boundaries for medical artificial intelligence and safeguarding both patient rights and data integrity.

Article Synopsis
  • The research evaluates how effective colposcopy-guided biopsy (CGB) is at detecting high-grade cervical lesions, while also examining the impact of HPV integration on its accuracy.
  • A study involving 550 patients showed that a significant percentage of diagnoses matched between CGB and surgical outcomes, with notable predictors identified, including CGB results, high-grade cytology, and HPV integration status.
  • The findings suggest that incorporating HPV integration testing can improve the accuracy of diagnosing high-grade cervical lesions, leading to better management strategies for patients.

Objective To investigate the impact of microvascular obstruction (MVO) on the global and regional myocardial function by cardiac magnetic resonance feature-tracking (CMR-FT) in ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods Consecutive acute STEMI patients who underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging 1 - 7 days after successful reperfusion by percutaneous coronary intervention treatment were included in this retrospective study. Based on the presence or absence of MVO on late gadolinium enhancement images, patients were divided into groups with MVO and without MVO.

Previous experimental studies have regarded distraction, an emotional regulation strategy, as an attentional disengagement strategy and considered it to be maladaptive in the long term. This study intends to further examine the relationship between distraction and negative emotions by using a questionnaire and a multiple mediation model. A total of 723 college students completed the distraction, cognitive reappraisal and problem-solving subscales of the Measurement of Affect Regulation Styles, the Needs Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Meaningful Life Measure, and the Emotional Experience Questionnaire of Well-being.

  • RNA interference (RNAi) techniques have been identified as effective methods for managing the pest Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata, which harms solanaceous plants in Asia.
  • The study focused on delivering a double-stranded RNA targeting the lesswright (lwr) gene of H. vigintioctopunctata, leading to significant pest mortality rates that depended on both dosage and timing of application.
  • Results revealed that targeting the Hvlwr gene not only increased mortality in different life stages of the pest but also enhanced plant protection, indicating Hvlwr as a promising candidate for future pest control strategies.

The adult employees suffer from various pressure and their mental health has been paid more and more attention to. This study has two purposes, namely, (1) to investigate the gender differences in the stressors and utilization frequency of problem-focused coping among adult employees and (2) to explore the gender differences in the interaction effect of cumulative risk and problem-focused coping on depression among adult employees. The cumulative risk of employees was assessed in the following six ways: health pressure, family economic pressure, love and marriage problems, conflicts among family members, work stress and friend support.

Background: Fertility desire for a second child has been a lively topic since the implementation of the two-child policy in China. Chinese researchers have explored various factors influencing the fertility desire for a second child. However, there have not been studies on the individual differences in the relative fertility costs and fertility benefits and their effects on fertility desire for a second child.

Carbon dots capped with polyethyleneimine (CD-PEI) were synthesized and applied in selective separation and preconcentration of trace Cr(VI). Dispersed particle extraction (DPE) slurry sampling with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was used to selectively and sensitively determine Cr(VI) in water samples. The as-synthesized CD-PEI was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis, fluorescence and zeta potential measurement.

Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC), the first rate-limiting enzyme of polyamine biosynthesis, was found to be associated with cell growth, proliferation and transformation. ODC gene expression in gastric cancer was increased and its level was positively correlated with the degree of malignity of gastric mucosa and development of gastric lesions. In order to evaluate the therapeutic effects of antisense RNA of ODC on gastric cancer, an antisense RNA of ODC expressing plasmid pcDNA-ODCr which delivered a 120 bp fragment complementary to the initiation codon of ODC gene was constructed and transfected to gastric cancer cells SGC7901 and MGC803.

Article Synopsis
  • - UbcH10 is a cancer-related enzyme that is overexpressed in several types of cancer, and this study aims to silence the UbcH10 gene using RNA interference to assess its effects on colorectal cancer growth both in the lab and in living organisms.
  • - The researchers created a special vector to deliver UbcH10 short hairpin RNA, producing cancer cell lines with reduced UbcH10, and evaluated the gene's silencing through various experiments including PCR and flow cytometry.
  • - Results showed a significant reduction in UbcH10 expression and a marked inhibition of colorectal cancer cell growth, suggesting that targeting UbcH10 could be a promising therapeutic strategy for colorectal cancer treatment.

Tumstatin is the 28 kDa NC1 domain of the alpha3 chain of type IV collagen that inhibits pathological angiogenesis and suppresses endothelial cell proliferation and tumor growth. In the present paper, we expressed and purified recombinant human tumstatin protein and then prepared the anti-tumstatin polyclonal antibody. To investigate the expression of tumstatin in renal carcinoma, tumstatin protein was detected by western blotting using the prepared anti-tumstatin antibody and tumstatin mRNA levels were assayed by RT-PCR.

Spermidine/spermine N(1)-acetyltransferase (SSAT) is the rate-limiting step in polyamine catabolism. In a previous study, we constructed a recombinant adenovirus, Ad-SSAT, which can express human SSAT. In the present study, we investigated the effect of upregulated and downregulated SSAT on gastric cancer cells.

The PCR technique has been set up for nearly twenty years and is becoming more and more ripe. But because of the multiple influencing factors and complicated reaction procedures,no mathematical method that can describe the PCR reaction has been given. On the basis of its elementary principle,we suggested a kinetic equation to describe the reaction procedure,Wamp=[Ntarg x (1+P)n1+0.
