Expression of Eag1 was detected in resected esophageal squamous cell carcinomas tissues and matched tissues by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. Positive expression of Eag1 protein was 75% (51/68), and mRNA was 73% (8/11) in primary cancer tissues. Eag1 protein positively stained in all 10 metastatic lymph nodes.

Aim: To study the expression of CDw75 in patients with gastric carcinoma and to correlate CDw75 expression with progression of the tumor.
Methods: Immunohistochemical method was used to examine the expression of CDw75 in 72 cases of the gastric carcinoma and adjacent normal gastric mucosa, and the percentage of the cells positively stained with CDw75 was calculated using a computer-aided microscopic image analysis system.
Results: CDw75 was not expressed in normal gastric mucosa but detected in 37 of the 72 neoplastic gastric lesions.
Background & Objective: Tumor-associated expression of sialylated glycoconjugates was found to be closely associated with aggressive behavior and increased metastatic potential of malignant cells. The CDw75 (cluster of differentiation antigen 75) epitope is a sialylated carbohydrate determinant generated by beta-galactosyl alpha 2, 6-sialyltransferase.
