Background: A complete colonoscopy is crucial for screening colorectal diseases and colorectal cancer. However, a failure rate of up to 43% still exists. Several studies have indicated that the water exchange method can enhance the cecal intubation rate while reducing discomfort of the patient.

Recently, numerous studies comparing the diagnostic efficacy of smear cytology (SC) and liquid-based cytology (LBC) for pancreatic lesions yielded mixed results.
Aim: To compare and identify the better cytology method for EUS-FNA in pancreatic lesions.
Aim: To investigate the relationships among subtypes of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) using narrow band imaging (NBI) magnifying endoscopy.
Methods: A reflux disease questionnaire was used to screen 120 patients representing the three subtypes of GERD (n = 40 for each subtypes): nonerosive reflux disease (NERD), reflux esophagitis (RE) and Barrett's esophagus (BE). NBI magnifying endoscopic procedure was performed on the patients as well as on 40 healthy controls.
Objective: To evaluate the side effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) on gastric mucosa, and to study the preventive effects of teprenone in patients.
Methods: 108 patients taking NSAID for more than 3 months with no infection of helicobacter pylori (Hp) were collected. All patients were screened by endoscopy and their upper gastrointestinal symptoms were evaluated.

Objective: To investigate the influences of helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection, liver function, gastroesophageal varicosity, esophageal varicosity ligation (EVL), and esophageal varicosity sclerotherapy (EVS) on patients with portal hypertensive gastropathy (PHG).
Methods: Fourty-seven patients with liver cirrhosis included 34 patients with PHG and 13 patients without PHG. Liver function, Hp infection, and gastroesophageal varicosity were investigated clinically in all patients, and gastroscopy was made again in patients with EVL 1-2 months after operation to observe the changes of PHG.
