Microscopic insights into the effects of interfacial dynamics and nanoconfinement on characteristics of calcium carbonate clusters within two-dimensional nanochannels.

Herein, the interfacial effects on calcium carbonate clustering within two-dimensional (2D) graphene nanochannels were systematically investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. The distribution characteristics of the ions at the interface can be attributed to the ordered water layers within the 2D nanochannels. The orientation of CO is approximately perpendicular to the interface, which can be attributed to hydrogen bonding and its association with Ca at the interface region.

Inhibiting pyroptosis: novel immune evasion strategies for pathogens.

Pyroptosis is a type of programmed cell death mediated by the Gasdermin family. It is triggered in response to pathogen infection or other danger signals. The activation of Gasdermins leads to pyroptosis and the release of large amounts of inflammatory cytokines.

Previously, we constructed a recombinant scFv, RGD-p21Ras-scFv by linking RGD membrane-penetrating peptide gene with the anti-p21Ras scFv gene.

Transformation of trollioside and isoquercetin by human intestinal flora in vitro.

The present study was designed to determine the intestinal bacterial metabolites of trollioside and isoquercetin and their antibacterial activities. A systematic in vitro biotransformation investigation on trollioside and isoquercetin, including metabolite identification, metabolic pathway deduction, and time course, was accomplished using a human intestinal bacterial model. The metabolites were analyzed and identified by HPLC and HPLC-MS.
