Introduction: The triglyceride glucose index (TyG) is associated with cardiovascular diseases; however, its association with stroke remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate this relationship by examining two extensive cohort studies using two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR).
Methods: Using data from the 1999-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) and the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC)-IV, the correlation between TyG (continuous and quartile) and stroke was examined using multivariate Cox regression models and sensitivity analyses.
Background: The blood urea nitrogen-to-creatinine ratio (BUNCR) has been proposed as a potential biomarker for critical illness-induced catabolism. However, its specific relevance and significance in the context of non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage (NTIH) remains unclear. As such, the primary objective of this study was to determine the role of BUNCR in the prognosis of patients with NTIH.

However, its correlation with cerebrovascular disease (CVD) mortality remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between TyG index and mortality in patients with CVD.

However, the relationship between SLC1A5, which is involved in immune regulation, and immune cell infiltration in the tumor microenvironment has not been elucidated, and the relationship between SLC1A5 and ferroptosis is rarely reported. Therefore, we comprehensively analyzed the expression level of SLC1A5 across cancers and compared it with that in normal tissues.

Methods: A total of 8629 patients with NMM (surgery alone group: n = 7716, postoperative radiotherapy group: n = 913) were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Patient profiles were matched by 1:1 propensity score matching (PSM).
Hydrogen sulfide (HS), as the third gasotransmitter, has an important impact on physiological and pathological activities. Herein, we fabricated an artificial nanochannel with a conductance value of 2.01 nS via a supramolecular coordination strategy.

EXAFS and fluorescence experiments showed that zinc coordinated with the porphyrin derivative as the ratio of 1 : 1 with the binding constant for 3.39 × 10 M.

Herein, we report the synthesis of three different supramolecular platinum(II) metallacycles via coordination-driven self-assembly of a diplatinum(II) acceptor and organic donors with a triphenylamine, carbazole, or tetraphenylethylene moiety. The triphenylamine-modified SCC exhibits aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) but no mechanofluorochromism.

An efficient treatment method for this wastewater is urgently required. We prepared inorganic-organic hybrid MXene-pillararene nanosheets with a large lateral size (5-8 μm).

In nature, photoresponsive nanochannels are important components of organisms, with examples including the rhodopsin channels in optic nerve cells and photoresponsive protein channels in the photosynthesis system of plants. Inspired by biological channels, scientists have constructed various photoresponsive, smart solid-state nanochannels membranes for a range of applications.

Gas-responsive nanochannels have great relevance for applications in many fields. Inspired by CO-sensitive ion channels, herein we present an approach for designing solid-state nanochannels that allow controlled regulation of ion transport in response to alternate CO/N stimuli. The pillar[5]arene () bearing diethylamine groups can convert into the water-soluble host , containing cationic tertiary ammonium salt groups after absorbing CO.

The development of organic nanoparticles that fluoresce in the near-infrared, especially in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window, improves in vivo fluorescence imaging due to deeper penetration and higher spatiotemporal resolution. We report two kinds of NIR-II fluorescent molecules with twisted intramolecular charge-transfer (TICT) and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics. The virus-like particles (VLPs) of simian virus 40 (SV40) were used as templates to encapsulate the molecules in a well-defined structure (referred to as CH1-SV40 and CH2-SV40).

Pituitary adenomas (PAs) are well known as a common intracranial benign tumor, and a portion of PAs are refractory to current therapeutic methods. ErbB receptors family signaling pathway regulates the expression of PAs activation associated gene. Inhibition of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) can inhibit proliferation of PAs.
