Yi-Qi-Yang-Yin Decoction (YQYY), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, has been used to treat diabetic retinopathy (DR), yet its precise mechanisms of action remain poorly understood. In this study, two distinct diabetic models, namely spontaneous type 2 diabetic db/db mice and streptozotocin (STZ)-induced type 1 diabetic rats, were employed to assess the efficacy of YQYY in ameliorating DR. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOF-MS) was employed to identify the chemical composition of YQYY in mouse serum.

As a key regulator of protein N-terminal acetylation, APEH was involved in many important physiological processes while its aberrant expression was correlated with progression of various diseases such as inflammation, diabetics, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and cancers. However, while emerging attention has been attracted in APEH-related disease diagnosis and drug discovery, the mechanisms behind APEH and related disease progression are still unclear; thus, further investigating the physiological role and function of APEH is of great importance.

However, the mechanisms underlying RPE cell senescence remain inadequately understood, and effective therapeutic strategies are lacking. While astragaloside IV (Ast) has demonstrated anti-aging properties, its specific effects on RPE cell senescence and potential mechanisms are not yet fully clarified.

Moreover, relevant studies have revealed that a link exists between type 2 diabetes and heart failure and that abnormal thickening of EAT is inextricably linked to the development of diabetic heart failure. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated that EAT is implicated in the pathophysiologic process of diabetic myocardial disease.

Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), which is overexpressed in the brains of patients with AD, is a potential drug target and biomarker. However, the molecular mechanism underlying BChE's role in the AD process remains unclear.

Apigenin (AP), a potential dietary supplement for managing diabetes and its associated complications, has demonstrated inhibitory effects on EMT in various diseases. However, the specific impact and underlying mechanisms of AP on EMT in RPE cells remain poorly understood.

Purpose: This study was to investigate the molecular mechanism underlying the regulatory effect of Pae on hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation in liver fibrosis, with a specific focus on the role of Pae in modulating histone methylation modifications.
Methods: The therapeutic effect of Pae was evaluated by establishing in vivo and in vitro models of carbon tetrachloride (CCl)-induced mice and transforming growth factor β (TGF-β)-induced LX-2 cells, respectively.
Gastroscopy, a critical tool for the diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal diseases, has recently incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) technology to alleviate the challenges involved in endoscopic diagnosis of some lesions, thereby enhancing diagnostic accuracy. This narrative review covers the current status of research concerning various applications of AI technology to gastroscopy, then discusses future research directions. By providing this review, we hope to promote the integration of gastroscopy and AI technology, with long-term clinical applications that can assist patients.

The mechanism of melting is significant, as it links the structure and dynamics between crystal and liquid. In two dimensions, the crystal could first melt into a hexatic liquid before finally reaching a disordered liquid. However, such a hexatic liquid phase is unstable in three dimensions, and melting is recognized as a one-step process.

A Mg spacer layer with high hydrogen storage stability was clamped in a Pd/Co/Mg/Fe multilayer structure to enhance its hydrogen storage stability and explore the structure's magneto-transport properties. After 1 bar hydrogen exposure, the formation of a stable MgH phase was demonstrated in an ambient environment at room temperature through X-ray diffraction.
