Objective: To estimate the predictive performance of the population pharmacokinetics software JPKD-vancomycin on predicting the vancomycin steady-state trough concentration, and to analyze the related factors affecting the predictive performance.
Methods: The clinical data of patients who were treated with vancomycin and received therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) admitted to Suzhou Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from July 2013 to December 2018 were enrolled. All patients were designed an empirical vancomycin regimen (initial regimen) according to vancomycin medication guidelines.
Despite significant advances in cathode materials, developing high-performance anodes remains a key challenge for future pseudocapacitors. FeO has been considered as a promising anode candidate due to its high theoretical capacitance, environmental benignity, and earth-abundant characteristics. However, the low electronic conductivity and poor cyclability of FeO significantly limit its practical application.

Owing to flexible switches simulated by pH, i-motif DNAs are widely used as a pH sensor. But its character of structure transition strongly dependent on acidic pH severely hampers the application of i-motif DNA in physiological media.

In this work, first-principles calculations are performed to clarify the decomposition mechanism of an H-SSZ-13 framework with adjacent Al atom pair distribution under hydrothermal conditions. It is found that the adjacent Al atoms have a tendency to occupy the para-sites of the 4-membered rings (4MRs) in the framework.

When the temperature decreases below 95 K, we have observed two new peaks for CL-20/TNT cocrystal, at 4.58 and 5.

A mechanistic study of microgravity-regulated immune cell function is necessary to overcome this challenge. Here, we demonstrate that both spaceflight (real) and simulated microgravity significantly reduce macrophage differentiation, decrease macrophage quantity and functional polarization, and lead to metabolic reprogramming, as demonstrated by changes in gene expression profiles.

Introduction: Asian women have a higher prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus than women of other races/ethnicities. We aimed to compare the prevalence of gestational diabetes among Asian American women to other racial/ethnic groups and explore whether the higher occurrence of the disorder among Asian women can be explained by acculturation.
Methods: We conducted a population-based, cross-sectional study among 5,562 women who participated in the 2007 Los Angeles Mommy and Baby Study (LAMB) in Los Angeles County, California.

Objectives: Acute ischemic stroke is one of the leading causes of death. Patient outcomes, such as in-patient mortality, may be impacted by the time of arrival to the hospital. Telestroke networks have been found to be effective and safe at treating acute ischemic strokes.

We aimed to investigate the role of corilagin on miR-21-regulated hepatic fibrosis, especially miR-21-regulated TGF-1/Smad signaling pathway, in hepatic stellate LX2 cell line and Sprague-Dawley rats. The mRNA or protein levels of miR-21, Smad7, connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), -smooth muscle actin (-SMA), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), collagen type I alpha 1 (COL1A1), Smad2, Smad3, Smad2/3, p-Smad2, p-Smad3, p-Smad2/3, and transforming growth factor-1 (TGF-1) in LX2 cells and liver tissues were determined.

Background: The residency training programme in Shanghai is the first in China to become standardized; however, there has been no evidence that the programme equalizes training quality. This cross-sectional study examined whether residents in all disciplines at different hospitals perceived equivalent improvement in professional competency after this programme.
Methods: We recruited all 2283 residents who enrolled in the programme in 2013.
The objective of this study was to examine the association of life events stressors with risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) by using the multilevel sample from the 2007 Los Angeles Mommy and Baby (LAMB) survey. Four multilevel logistic regression models were applied while accounting for the multilevel design of the LAMB study. The following demographic variables were used as covariates: maternal age, race/ethnicity, maternal educational attainment, household income level in the previous year, physical exercise, and prepregnancy body weight status.

However, the roles and the underlying mechanisms of miR-18a in NPC remain poorly understood. Here we demonstrated by real-time RT-PCR that miR-18a expression is upregulated in NPC tissues, and positively correlated with tumor size and TNM stage.

Background: Apelin is a specific endogenous ligand of orphan G protein-coupled receptor APJ.
Objective: This study was designed to determine how apelin chronically regulates sympathetic nerve activity and blood pressure in PVN of rats.
Objectives: Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have been used as an intervention to support recovery from alcohol use disorder (AUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD). We sought to identify attitudes and experiences toward standardized MBIs among individuals recovering from these substance abuse disorders (SUD) through a qualitative approach.
Design: We conducted three 60-minute focus groups among people with history of SUD (6-months to 3 years in recovery): two groups with those with alcohol use disorder (AUD) history and one with individuals with history of opioid use disorder (OUD).

Introduction: Ectopic thyroid occurs due to aberrant development of the thyroid gland during its migration to the pretracheal region. Intrapulmonary ectopic thyroid is extremely rare and its benign transformation (microfollicular adenoma) has never been reported. This paper reports a case of ectopic thyroid microfollicular adenoma in the lung mimicking metastatic pelvic tumors.

Elevated expression of TNF-α is associated with numerous neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. However, the specific mechanism of the signaling events that trigger TNF-α-mediated neurotoxicity remain unknown.

This study aimed to assess whether the program impacted trainees' willingness to become a doctor and whether the program had different effects among WM and TCM trainees. A structured questionnaire was distributed to 2114 trainees to assess their perceptions and satisfaction with the program and their willingness to become a doctor after the exposure to the program.

To date, few epidemiological studies have examined repeated measures of maternal urinary phthalates and the combined effects of prenatal exposure to multiple phthalates on children's neurocognitive development.
Objectives: We aimed to investigate the association between children's neurocognitive development at 2 years of age and prenatal phthalate exposure, as assessed by repeated measurements during pregnancy, and to further examine the effects of co-exposure to multiple phthalates using cumulative risk assessment.
For the purpose of synthesizing drug candidates with desirable bioactivity, a class of benzoyl amide containing nitrogen heterocyclic ring derivatives targeting VEGFR-2 was designed and screened out using Discovery Studio. Eighteen target compounds were synthesized and then selected by some biological trials sequentially including inhibition of VEGFR-2, anti-proliferation in vitro, flow cytometry. Among them, compound 8h showed the best inhibitory activity (IC = 0.
