Objective: The optimal surgical method of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and bile duct tumor thrombus (BDTT) is still controversial. This study aims to investigate the impact of different surgical methods on BDTT patients.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study was carried out on HCC patients with BDTT who underwent surgery.
Bioactive peptides with blood pressure-lowering functions have received increasing attention. In recent years, many ACE-inhibiting peptides have been widely purified from various food-derived proteins and have received considerable interest owing to their potential role in cardiovascular diseases and in the reduction of side effects. In this study, we hydrolyzed a three-spot seahorse ( Leach) protein by alcalase to obtain a hydrolysate containing angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptide.

Propranolol administration during CS retrieval-induced reconsolidation can impair fear memory that is specific to the reactivated CS. However, from a practical perspective, the US is often associated with multiple CSs, and each CS can induce a fear response.

Developmental disorders and environmental factors such as sleep position may lead to abnormal neurocranial maturation. Therefore, it is important to understand how this structure develops, in order to provide a baseline for early detection of anomalies.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFO-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) is the only enzyme that catalyzes the post-translational modification of proteins at Ser/Thr with a single β-N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAcylation). Its activity has been associated with chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative disease. Although numerous OGT substrates have been identified, its accepted substrate scope can still be refined.

Post-operative sleep disorders induce adverse effects on patients, especially the elderly, which may be associated with surgery and inhalational anaesthetics. Melatonin is a neuroendocrine regulator of the sleep-wake cycle. In this study, we analysed the alterations of post-operative sleep in aged melatonin-deficient (C57BL/6J) mice, and investigated if exogenous melatonin could facilitate entrainment of circadian rhythm after laparotomy under sevoflurane anaesthesia.

However, the implicit assumption of stationary and nondirectional functional connectivity (FC) in most previous resting-state fMRI studies raises an open question of JME-related aberrations in dynamic causal properties of FC. Here, we introduces an empirical method incorporating sliding-window approach and a multivariate Granger causality analysis to investigate, for the first time, the reorganization of dynamic effective connectivity (DEC) in DMN for patients with JME.

Methods: 66 women with newly diagnosed cervical cancer were included between July 2017 and August 2019. All patients had a FIGO stage IB-IIA cancer and treated with hysterectomy and bilateral lymphadenectomy.
Purpose: This study was designed to identify the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of pyrazinamide (PZA) resistance among multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB) from Henan and to evaluate the efficacy of , and mutations in predicting PZA resistance.
Materials And Methods: A total of 152 MDR strains were included in this study. The Bactec MGIT system was used to determine PZA susceptibility for all strains.

The pathogenesis of diabetes is associated with dysfunction of pancreatic β-cells. To ameliorate the β-cell dysfunction, it has propelled great interest to search pharmacological agents from natural plants. This study explored the protective effect of apigetrin, a flavonoid present in natural plants, against streptozotocin (STZ)-induced cell damages in RINm5F cells and the potential mechanisms.

Methods: We searched PubMed and Embase for cross-sectional or cohort studies reporting the prevalence of HAND or its subtypes in HIV-infected adult populations from January 1, 1996, to May 15, 2020, without language restrictions. Two reviewers independently undertook the study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment.
Background: The World Health Organization End TB Strategy meant that compared with 2015 baseline, the reduction in pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) incidence should be 20 and 50% in 2020 and 2025, respectively. The case number of PTB in China accounted for 9% of the global total in 2018, which ranked the second high in the world. From 2007 to 2019, 854 672 active PTB cases were registered and treated in Henan Province, China.

This paper proposes a multiscale recognition method for traffic signs based on the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) and Category Quality Focal Loss (CQFL) to enhance recognition speed and recognition accuracy. Specifically, GMM is utilized to cluster the prior anchors, which are in favor of reducing the clustering error.

Clinical and epidemiological data of a 3-month-old patient with COVID-19 were collected, including general status, clinical results, laboratory tests, imaging characteristics, and epidemiological reports. The infant had no fever but had mild respiratory symptoms.

However, to our knowledge, it is little known how dietary proteins affect neurodegenerative changes. In this study, we investigated the effects of dietary proteins in a high-fat diet on hippocampus functions related to enteric glial cells (EGCs) in Wistar rats that were fed either 40% or 20% (calorie) casein, chicken protein or pork protein for 12 weeks (n=10 each group).

Myeloma plasma cells vary from mature forms to immature, plasmablastic, and pleomorphic cells. Only a few cases of morphologic variant of plasma cell neoplasm have been reported, in which the plasma cell neoplasm presented with lymphoplasmacytic, megakaryocytic, plasmablastic, lymphocytosis-like, and variant hairy cell leukemia-like morphological features. A 66-year-old man sought medical attention with a previous 2-month history of lower back and chest pain.

While this phenomenon is commonly observed, the underlying molecular mechanism is still obscure as the classic model plants do not exhibit this process. Therefore, our study aimed to propose a computerized method for using dual-mode ultrasound radiomics and the intrinsic imaging phenotypes for accurately differentiating benign, lymphomatous, and metastatic lymph nodes.
Methods: A total of 543 lymph nodes from 538 patients were examined with both B-mode ultrasonography and elastography.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is accompanied with widespread impairment in social-emotional functioning. Classification of ASD using sensitive morphological features derived from structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain may help us to better understand ASD-related mechanisms and improve related automatic diagnosis. Previous studies using T1 MRI scans in large heterogeneous ABIDE dataset with typical development (TD) controls reported poor classification accuracies (around 60%).
