Application of Cone-beam Computed Tomography in Interventional Therapies for Liver Malignancy: A Consensus Statement by the Chinese College of Interventionalists.

Despite its crucial role in interventional therapies for liver malignancy, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has not yet been fully integrated into clinical practice due to several complicating factors, including nonstandardized operations and limited recognition of CBCT among interventional radiologists. In response, the Chinese College of Interventionalists has released a consensus statement aimed at standardizing and promoting the application of CBCT in the interventional therapies for liver malignancy. This statement summarizes CBCT scanning techniques, and operational standards, and highlights its potential applications in clinical practice.

Successful treatment of granulomatosis with polyangiitis using tocilizumab combined with glucocorticoids: A case report.

Background: Tocilizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody against the interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor that is commonly used to treat large vessel vasculitis and antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-related small vessel vasculitis. However, tocilizumab in combination with glucocorticoids for successfully treating granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) has rarely been reported.

Case Summary: Here, we report a 40-year-old male patient who suffered GPA for 4 years.

The present study evaluated the potential combined effects of NAFLD and MetS on the development of osteoporosis. The relationship between NAFLD and MetS and osteoporosis was assessed in 938 postmenopausal female participants. Moderate and severe NAFLDs were combined as significant NAFLD (SNAFLD).

Prognostic value of platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios among critically ill patients with acute kidney injury.

Background: Inflammation plays an important role in the initiation and progression of acute kidney injury (AKI). However, evidence regarding the prognostic effect of the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), a novel systemic inflammation marker, among patients with AKI is scarce. In this study, we investigated the value of the PLR in predicting the outcomes of critically ill patients with AKI.

Risk factors of neonatal tetanus in Wenzhou, China: a case-control study.

Introduction: Neonatal tetanus is a major cause of neonatal mortality in many developing countries and remains a major public health problem. This study aimed to determine risk factors associated with neonatal tetanus in Wenzhou, China.

Methodology: Medical records of neonatal tetanus cases from 17 hospitals over a 13-year period (2000-2012) were reviewed for potential risk factors.

Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging for bile duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms.

Aim: To investigate gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl-diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the bile duct (IPMN-B).

Methods: The imaging findings of five cases of IPMN-B which were pathologically confirmed at our hospital between March 2012 and May 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Three of these cases were diagnosed by duodenal endoscopy and biopsy pathology, and two cases were diagnosed by surgical pathology.

Cardiovascular involvement in connective tissue disease: the role of interstitial lung disease.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess cardiovascular involvement in patients with connective tissue disease (CTD), and determine whether interstitial lung disease (ILD) in these patients is associated with elevated cardiovascular risk.

Methods: This study evaluated a retrospective cohort of 436 CTD patients admitted to a large teaching hospital in Zhejiang province, China, along with an additional 436 participants of an annual community health screening conducted in the physical examination center who served as age- and gender-matched controls. Demographic, clinical, serologic and imaging characteristics, as well as medications used by each participant were recorded.
