Background: To ensure the acceptability and effectiveness of potential Multipurpose Prevention Technologies (MPTs), understanding user needs, and preferences are crucial to inform the design of MPTs. This article aims to explore the perceptions towards potential MPT use and to explore the needs of multiple stakeholders in India within their social and behavioural contexts.
Methods: A qualitative multicentric study was conducted in three Indian states-Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Background: Combination vaccines are effective in simplifying complex vaccination schedules involving multiple vaccines. A fully liquid hexavalent diphtheria (D)-tetanus (T)-whole-cell pertussis (wP)- hepatitis B (HepB)-inactivated poliovirus (IPV)-Haemophilus influenzae b (Hib) vaccine (HEXASIIL®), manufactured by Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd.

In Phase III part, healthy infants received DTwP-HepB-IPV-Hib or DTwP-HepB-Hib + IPV vaccines at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age. Blood samples were collected prior to the first dose and 28 days, post dose 3.

Croaking is a unique component of reproductive behaviour in amphibians which plays a key role in intraspecies communication and mate evaluation. While gonadal hormones are known to induce croaking, central regulation of sound production is less studied. Croaking is a dramatic, transient activity that sets apart an animal from non-croaking individuals.

This study explored issues around health care access and programmatic gaps among MSM in rural settings of India.
Methods: We conducted eight Focused Group Discussions (FGDs), 20 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and 20 In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) in four rural sites in Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh between November 2018 and September 2019.
Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) binds sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) and is inversely associated with mortality in human heart failure (HF). Here, we show that anthracyclines such as doxorubicin (Dox) reduce circulating ApoM in mice and humans, that ApoM is inversely associated with mortality in patients with anthracycline-induced heart failure, and ApoM heterozygosity in mice increases Dox-induced mortality. In the setting of Dox stress, our studies suggest ApoM can help sustain myocardial autophagic flux in a post-transcriptional manner, attenuate Dox cardiotoxicity, and prevent lysosomal injury.

Receptor-interacting protein 140 (RIP140, encoded by Nrip1) has been shown to function as a transcriptional corepressor of oxidative metabolism. We found that mice with striated muscle deficiency of RIP140 (strNrip1-/-) exhibited increased expression of a broad array of genes involved in mitochondrial energy metabolism and contractile function in heart and skeletal muscle.

Research Design And Methods: In this Phase II/III, multicenter, randomized, active-controlled, open-label study, 1500 healthy individuals, aged 4-65 years, were randomized to receive a single dose of SIIPL Tdap or comparator Tdap vaccine (Boostrix®; GlaxoSmithKlines, India). Adverse events (AEs) during initial 30 minutes, 7-day, 30-day post-vaccination were assessed.
Background: The public health interventions among Female Sex Workers (FSWs) have mainly addressed HIV/ STI prevention. The focus of the HIV prevention program on FSWs' Reproductive and Sexual Health (RSH) has been limited, thus, rendering them at a higher risk of unintended pregnancies, delayed pregnancy detection, and utilizing unsafe abortion methods.
Methods: A multistakeholder analysis was performed to study access and use of RSH services among FSWs in urban and rural India.
This first in human study was designed as an open label clinical trial to assess the safety and immunogenicity of SIIPL DTwP-HepB-IPV-Hib (Hexavalent) combination vaccine in healthy toddlers, aged 16-24 months. A total of 24 healthy toddlers were administered a 0.5 ml single dose of SIIPL DTwP-HepB-IPV-Hib vaccine intramuscularly, and followed for 28 days for safety outcomes viz.

How protection occurs remains unclear, although a causative block in cardiac BCAA oxidation is widely assumed. Here, we use in vivo isotope infusions to show that cardiac BCAA oxidation in fact increases, rather than decreases, in HF.

While studies in mammals, aves and fishes suggest evolutionary conserved role of CART, the information in amphibian is scanty. We have investigated the reproductive phase related variations of CART in the brain of adult male Microhyla ornata.

Studies have identified inflammatory mediators and fluid shear forces as critical environmental stimuli for EHT, raising the question of how such diverse inputs are integrated to drive HEC specification. Endothelial cell MEKK3-KLF2/4 signaling can be activated by both fluid shear forces and inflammatory mediators, and it plays roles in cardiovascular development and disease that have been linked to both stimuli.

Approximately 30% to 50% of patients harbor actionable alterations, including FGFR2 rearrangements. Pemigatinib, a potent, selective fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) FGFR1-3 inhibitor, is approved for previously treated, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic CCA harboring FGFR2 fusions/rearrangements, as detected by a US Food and Drug Administration-approved test.

We developed a therapeutic approach to generate transient antifibrotic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells in vivo by delivering modified messenger RNA (mRNA) in T cell–targeted lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The efficacy of these in vivo–reprogrammed CAR T cells was evaluated by injecting CD5-targeted LNPs into a mouse model of heart failure.
