Purpose: There is no consensus about the best fixation method for medial malleolar fractures. This study was conducted to compare the clinical and radiological results of positional (fully threaded) screws and lag (partially threaded) screws when used to fix medial malleolar fractures.
Methods: This prospective, randomized clinical trial included 68 patients with closed isolated medial malleolar fractures.
Background: Hydroxyapatite (HA) coated femoral stems were introduced to enhance the biological fixation at the implant-bone interface, aiming to increase the longevity and survival of the prostheses. We aimed to assess the long-term outcomes of an HA ceramic (HAC) coated stem in primary total hip arthroplasty (THA), assess the stem survival, and clinically evaluate the patients using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and radiological evaluation of stem osseointegration.
Patients And Methods: This was a prospective evaluation of a retrospective cohort of 385 patients (442 hips) who underwent primary THA between June 2008 and December 2018.
Background: Reconstruction of the pelvic ring anatomy in unstable anterior pelvic ring injuries is a significant step to reduce the mortality rate associated with these injuries efficiently. There is a debate on using either an anterior subcutaneous pelvis internal fixator (INFIX) or an anterior supra-acetabular external fixator (EXFIX) to manage an unstable anterior pelvic ring fracture.
Aim: To compare the functional and radiological outcomes and complications of INFIX EXFIX in managing unstable pelvic ring injuries.
Introduction: Longitudinal sacral fractures are usually a matter of controversy regarding decision-making for reduction, fixation, and approach. Percutaneous and minimally invasive techniques present perioperative difficulties, but with fewer postoperative complications compared to open techniques. The objective of this study was to compare the functional as well as radiological outcomes of the Transiliac Internal fixator (TIFI) versus Iliosacral screw (ISS) fixation of sacral fractures applied percutaneously in a minimally invasive technique.

Methods: A Prospective case series from 2019 to 2021 was conducted at university hospital including 72 patients with Denis type 2 sacral fractures. The operative and fluoroscopy time, reduction, implantation techniques, postoperative radiological and functional data were collected and evaluated with minimum follow-up of 12 months.
Introduction: Non-autoimmune sacroiliac joint pain contributes to nearly a quarter of low back pain patients. Non-surgical management fails to satisfy patients. A new minimally invasive technique for sacroiliac stabilization has been introduced, defying the traditional rules of fusion.

Using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) database, we explored the safety of TAVR among patients with a diagnosis of AA.
Methods: We queried the National Inpatient Sample database (2012-2017) for hospitalized patients undergoing TAVR, using ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes for endovascular TAVR.
Coronary artery fistula is a rare condition that can be congenital or acquired. Most patients with these anomalies remain asymptomatic, but symptoms and complications may develop with increasing age. We discuss the clinical presentation, diagnostic work-up, and management options for this condition.

The aim of this randomized controlled trail was to compare fracture stability in posterior plating alone versus posterior plating and anterior column lag-screw fixation in treatment of transverse and transverse with posterior wall acetabular fractures.
Methods: Thirty patients were randomized to one of two groups, either posterior fixation alone (single column group), or posterior plating and anterior fixation with percutaneous anterior column screw (double column group).
Background: Currently, there is no definition or classification system for quadrilateral plate (QLP) fractures; the aim was to anatomically and radiologically characterise the QLP, propose a definition and classify QLP fractures.
Methods: This study included an anatomical component and a radiological component. The anatomical study aimed at defining the characteristics of the QLP; the QLP was identified using four articulating bony pelvis specimens.
Objective: We present a case of chronic total occlusion (CTO) approached with LASER endovascular intervention by radial artery approach using a 5 French sheath.
Case Report: A 57-year-old man presented to our hospital having had retrosternal chest pain for two days. Physical examination was normal at the time of presentation.
Coronary angiography is the golden choice for coronary artery disease evaluation and management. However, as with any invasive procedures, there is a risk of complications. We are reporting a case of 69-year-old male with past medical history of cardiac bypass surgery, CHF, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia who was admitted to the hospital to evaluate his chest pain.

Stress-induced cardiomyopathy is a syndrome of transient cardiac dysfunction with no clear pathophysiology. It is thought to be secondary to catecholamine surge. The mechanism by which catecholamine can induce transient cardiac dysfunction is unknown.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: To study the angle of screw placement in relation to the scaphoid fracture plane and its effect on union after percutaneous fixation of scaphoid waist fractures.
Methods: Twenty-four consecutive scaphoid waist fractures were retrospectively evaluated for the orientation of screws in relation to the fracture plane using a method in which the sum-of-smaller angles (SSA) in 3 different radiographs were used to correlate with time to fracture union.
Results: All but one patient achieved union after percutaneous fixation of the scaphoid.

Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at increased risk of life-threatening cardiovascular arrhythmias. Although these arrhythmias are usually secondary to structural heart diseases that are commonly associated with CKD, a significant proportion of cases with sudden cardiac death have no obvious structural heart disease. This study aims to explore the relationship of cardiac repolarization in patients with CKD and worsening kidney function.

Methods: Open reduction using the limited lateral approach and internal fixation using screws only was studied in 33 patients with unilateral isolated simple DIACF with a mean age of 35 years (15 type II patients and 18 type III patients). All patients were evaluated both clinically and radiologically.
Unlabelled: The aim of this study was to detect the accuracy of routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) done in different centres and its agreement with arthroscopy in meniscal and ligamentous injuries of the knee. We prospectively examined 70 patients ranging in age between 22 and 59 years. History taking, plain X-ray, clinical examination, routine MRI and arthroscopy were done for all patients.
