Ulcerative colitis (UC), a chronic autoimmune disease of the gut with a relapsing and remitting nature, considers a major health-care problem. DSS is a well-studied pharmacologically-induced model for UC. Toll-Like Receptor 4 (TLR4) and its close association with p-38-Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase (p-38 MAPK) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) has important regulatory roles in inflammation and developing UC.

Novel chemotherapeutic approaches are identified as molecular targets for intrinsic apoptosis, like the modulation of the second mitochondria-derived activator of caspases (SMAC). SMAC is a physiological substrate of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs).

Pathophysiology of DN includes inflammation and changes in expression and function of voltage-gated sodium channels (Nav) in peripheral nerves; and central reduction of Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor-Gamma (PPAR-γ) expression.
Aim: This study explored the effect of ranolazine (RN) versus pioglitazone (PIO) in DN induced in rats.
Saffron ( L.) is an important spice and medicinal plant that is cultivated in Asia, Europe, North Africa, and North America. Its morphological and biochemical parameters, such as the changes in the floral parts (six tepals, three stamens, three stigmata), biomass, and chlorophyll content, are primarily affected by environmental conditions.

More than 130 bioactive compounds like vinblastine, vindoline and vincristine have been synthesized in this plant. Extensive studies have been carried out for optimization regeneration and transformation protocols.

The D(d)/S(201-209) and K(d)/S(199-208) epitopes are generated by processing endogenous HBsAg; the K(b)/S(208-215) epitope is generated by processing exogenous HBsAg; and the L(d)/S(28-39) epitope is generated by exogenous as well as endogenous processing of HBsAg. DNA vaccination primed high numbers of CTL specific for the L(d)/S(28-39) HBsAg epitope, low numbers of CTL specific for the D(d)/S(201-209) or K(d)/S(199-208) HBsAg epitopes in BALB/c mice, and high numbers of D(d)/S(201-209)- and K(d)/S(199-208)-specific CTL in congenic H-2(d)/L(d-) dm2 mice.

Mutant (but not wild-type) SV40 T-Ag show stable, ATP-dependent binding to the stress protein hsp73 when expressed in cells from different vertebrate tissues. Intracellular T/hsp73 complexes accumulate to high steady-state levels.
