Iron-dependent ferroptosis is a promising therapeutic strategy for cancers. However, the sustained overexpression of the antioxidant glutathione (GSH) in cancer cells substantially limits its therapeutic effect. Seeking efficient approaches that can perform high GSH depletion efficiency remains a significant task.

Method: Of 2150 patients, 376 examined by both coronary computed tomographic angiography and invasive coronary angiography (ICA) within 30 days at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital between March 2011 and July 2020 were included. Three coronary artery calcium scores (CACSs), including the Agatston score, volume score, and mass score, and other clinical variables were recorded.
UC is a chronic, nonspecific disease and characterized by a chronic relapsing intestinal inflammation, which puts a person at a higher risk of developing bowel cancer, while the causes of UC are unknown. Recently, with the development of microarray technology, more and more studies are focusing on the potential roles of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the pathogenesis of diseases. The purpose of this study is to devise a method, based on cDNA microarray probe genomics data, to computationally determine the potential function of evolutionary conserved lncRNAs in ulcerative colitis (UC).

Method: Chest CT images of 301 with NTM-LD and 804 with MTB-LD confirmed by pathogenic microbiological examination were retrospectively collected. The differences between the clinical manifestations of the two diseases were analysed.
Computed tomography (CT) is one of the most efficient diagnostic methods for rapid diagnosis of the widespread COVID-19. However, reading CT films brings a lot of concentration and time for doctors. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automatic CT image diagnosis system to assist doctors in diagnosis.

In this work, a theranostic nanosystem with a core-shell structure was synthesized through self-assembly of amphiphilic macromolecules, which can be used in effective catalysis therapy and phototherapy. Herein, we report that superparamagnetic iron oxide nanocrystals and IR780 dye were effectively loaded into the hydrophobic core of the nanosystem, which enabled dual-modality magnetic resonance imaging and near-infrared fluorescence imaging.

The determination of endogenous substances is of great significance for obtaining important biotic information such as biological components, metabolic pathways and disease biomarkers in different living organisms (e.g. plants, insects, animals and humans).

The graphene-embedded PEDOT skeleton well circumvented the aggregation-related problems in the traditional carbon-based SALDI method which combined with time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOF MS). As a result, the reproducibility and quantitative capacity of the SALDI platform were significantly improved.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the diagnostic performances of chest radiography, transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and electrocardiography (ECG)-gated contrast-enhanced cardiac CT in the assessment of cardiac lead perforation.
Methods: This retrospective study was approved by the ethics review board of Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital at Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou, China), and the need to obtain informed consent was waived.
