Background: Erenumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that selectively targets the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor. It has been proven to be safe and efficacious in patients with episodic migraine (EM) and chronic migraine (CM) as demonstrated in phase 2 and 3 clinical trials including patients from Europe, Japan, and the United States. Reversion from CM to EM, as indicated by a reduction in the frequency of headache days, is an important indicator for efficacy outcome, though it has not been analyzed widely in patients with CM to date.

In this work, magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for specific recognition of Hydroxytyrosol (HT) were designed by vinyl-modified magnetic particles (FeO@SiO@VTEOs) as carrier, ternary deep eutectic solvent (DES) as functional monomer, while ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as crosslinker. The optimum amount of DES was obtained by adsorption experiments (molar ratio, caffeic acid: choline chloride: formic acid = 1:6:3) which were 140 μL in total. Under the optimized amount of DES, the maximum adsorption capacity of the MIPs particles was 42.

Introduction: Medication-overuse headache (MOH) is a secondary chronic headache disorder that occurs in individuals with a pre-existing primary headache disorder, particularly migraine disorder. Obesity is often combined with chronic daily headaches and is considered a risk factor for the transformation of episodic headaches into chronic headaches. However, the association between obesity and MOH among individuals with migraine has rarely been studied.

Article Synopsis
  • Migraine is a common headache disorder linked to oxidative stress and inflammation, with Dl-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP) showing potential to protect against these factors but its effects on migraines are still unclear.
  • Researchers used a mouse model to simulate chronic migraine by injecting nitroglycerin and tested NBP at various doses to see how it affected pain sensitivity, light sensitivity, and anxiety behavior.
  • Results indicated that NBP reduced pain, light sensitivity, and anxiety in the mice, while also lowering markers related to inflammation and oxidative stress, suggesting a possible therapeutic role for NBP in treating migraines.

Background: Both epidemiological and clinical studies have indicated that headache and sleep disturbances share a complex relationship. Although headache and sleep share common neurophysiological and anatomical foundations, the mechanism underlying their interaction remains poorly understood. The structures of the diencephalon and brainstem, particularly the locus coeruleus (LC), are the primary sites where the sleep and headache pathways intersect.
