This study examined 29 female patients average age 26.8 years who underwent revision rhinoplasty after complications from buried thread nasal augmentation, focusing on soft tissue effects and nasal deformities.
Complications included insufficient projections, thread ectasia, exposure, and infections, with various deformities reported, leading to tailored revision procedures such as shapping the nose with autologous cartilage.
Post-operative evaluations showed satisfactory results in 26 patients, with a follow-up period averaging 18 months, while infection issues were managed effectively in the remaining 3 patients.
