Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most prevalent malignant tumor, characterized by a poor prognosis. In recent decades, both the incidence and mortality rates of HCC have risen sharply. Sorafenib has emerged as the first conventional drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for first-line treatment in advanced HCC patients due to its favorable safety profile.

There have been notable irregularities in CMTM6 expression observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with an evident correlation between CMTM6 dysregulation and patient prognosis. The cell cycle progression came to a halt at the G2/M phase. In-depth RNA-sequencing analysis of CMTM6 knockdown Hep3B cells revealed that the most prominent effect of CMTM6 perturbation was on the expression of CXCL8, a chemokine involved in immune responses, particularly through the interleukin-17F (IL-17F) signaling pathway.

Abortive initiation was found to be closely related to RNA polymerase through experiments. Therefore, the distribution of AT length and the scale of abortive initiation are correlated to the promoter, discriminator, and transcription initiation sequence, and can be affected by transcription elongation factors.

Methods And Results: Data from 111,494 regular physical examinations conducted on workers and retirees (aged 18 years or older) between January 2011 and December 2016, exported from the hospital information system, were analyzed. Restricted cubic splines (RCS) logistic regression was employed to access the association of BP with CAIT, and Bayesian benchmark dose methods were used to estimate the benchmark dose as the departure point of BP measurements.
Background: B56ε is a regulatory subunit of the serine/threonine protein phosphatase 2A, which is abnormally expressed in tumors and regulates various tumor cell functions. At present, the application of B56ε in pan-cancer lacks a comprehensive analysis, and its role and mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still unclear.
Aim: To analyze B56ε in pan-cancer, and explore its role and mechanism in HCC.
Background: As a homologous counterpart to the prokaryotic oligonuclease found in the cellular cytoplasm and mitochondrion, REXO2 assumes a pivotal role in the maintenance of mitochondrial homeostasis. Nevertheless, the precise functions and mechanisms by which REXO2 operates within the context of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have hitherto remained unexamined.
Methods: The expression levels of REXO2 in HCC tissues were evaluated through the utilization of the immunohistochemical (IHC) method, and subsequently, the association between REXO2 expression and the clinicopathological characteristics of HCC patients was scrutinized employing the χ test.
In recent years, many studies have attempted to clarify the formation, structure and biological function of migrasomes, which are defined as specialized organelles formed by the tips and intersections of Retraction Fibrils during cell migration. It has confirmed that migrasomes were involved in various critical biological processes and diseases, and has became a new research hotspot. In this paper, we reviewed the formation and biological functions of migrasomes, explored the relationship between migrasomes, tetraspanins and hepatocellular carcinoma and discussed the potential applications of migrasomes in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Background: Myc-associated zinc finger protein (MAZ) plays a role in cancer progression and metastasis. However, the role and underlying molecular mechanism of MAZ in thyroid cancer have not yet been fully elucidated. This study aimed to explore the clinical significance of MAZ in thyroid cancer tissues, and clarify its mechanism in the occurrence and development of thyroid cancer.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a typically malignant tumor in the digestive system. The mortality of HCC ranks third place in the world, second only to lung cancer and colorectal cancer. For the characteristics of high invasiveness, high metastasis, high recurrence rate as well as short survival time, HCC treatment has always been difficult in clinical practice.

Objective: This study aimed to detect and analyze emerging trends and collaborative networks in research on HIV/AIDS among students.
Background: Nearly one-third of new HIV infections occurred among youth in 2019 worldwide. Previous studies suggested that student youths living with HIV and nonstudent youths living with HIV might differ in some risk factors, transmission routes, HIV care, and disease outcomes.
Objective: This study aimed to compare the HIV epidemic, disease outcomes, and access to care among student and nonstudent youths living with HIV aged 16 to 25 years in Guangxi, China.

We aim to investigate the expression and clinical significance of the tubulin gamma complex-associated protein 4 (TUBGCP4) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The mRNA expression of TUBGCP4 in HCC tissues was analyzed using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Paired HCC and adjacent nontumor tissues were obtained from HCC patients to measure the protein expression of TUBGCP4 by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and to analyze the relationship between TUBGCP4 protein expression and the clinicopathological characteristics and the prognosis of HCC patients.

Objective: The study aims to explore the prognostic significance of zona pellucida glycoprotein 3 (ZP3) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues.
Methods: The expression of ZP3 protein in HCC tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) to study its effects on the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of HCC patients. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was used to confirm the expression of ZP3 in HCC tissues, and Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was performed to obtain potential ZP3-related pathways in HCC.

Objectives: Birth defects (BDs) are a major contributor to perinatal and infant mortality, morbidity and lifelong disability worldwide. A hospital-based study on birth defects was designed in Guilin city in the Guangxi province of Southwestern China aiming to determine the prevalence of BDs in the studied region, and the classify the BDs based on clinical presentation and causation.
Methods: The study involved BDs among all pregnancy outcomes (live births, stillbirths, death within 7 days, and pregnancy terminations) born in the 42 registered hospitals of Guilin between 2018 and 2020.
Background: Previous study has shown that chemokine-like factor (CKLF)-like MARVEL transmembrane domain-containing family member 4 (CMTM4) can bind and maintain programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression to promote tumor progression by alleviating the suppression of tumor-specific T cell activity, suggesting its potential role in tumor immunotherapy. However, the role of CMTM4 in tumor immunity has not been well clarified, especially in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: The protein expression of CMTM4/PD-L1/CD4/CD8 was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) detection in 90 cases of HCC tissues.
Tetraspanins (TSPANs) play crucial roles in cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis of human cancer. However, there is no study in revealing the aspects of TSPAN9 traits and its functions in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) prognosis. Our study is the first to portray the TSPAN9 expression in HCC tissues with immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis.

Methods And Results: In this study, peripheral blood samples from 346 Hb New York carriers were collected for blood cell parameter analysis. When comparing Hb New York heterozygotes, Hb New York combined with α thalassemia or α thalassemia, we found that the differences in hemoglobin (HGB), MCV and MCH values were statistically significant (P < 0.

As an important transcription factor that is widely expressed in most tissues of the human body, Myc-associated zinc finger protein (MAZ) has been reported highly expressed in many malignant tumors and thought to be a promising therapeutic target for cancer treatment. In this review, we aim to offer a comprehensive understanding of MAZ regulation in malignant tumors. The carboxy terminal of MAZ protein contains six C2H2 zinc fingers, and its regulation of transcription is based on the interaction between the GC-rich DNA binding sites of target genes and its carboxy-terminal zinc finger motifs.
