The electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) offers an alluring and sustainable alternative to the traditional anthraquinone process for hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) synthesis. However, challenges remain in developing scalable electrocatalysts and cost-effective reactors for high-purity H₂O₂ production. This study introduces a simple yet effective mechanical mixing method to fabricate a hybrid electrocatalyst from oxidized carbon nanotubes and layered double hydroxides (LDHs).

High-entropy materials are poised to revolutionize materials science and industrial applications due to their design flexibility, peculiar performance, and broad applicability. In this study, we present a proof-of-concept high-entropy engineered nanocarbon (HENC) co-doped with five nonmetal elements (B, F, P, S, and N), synthesized via in situ polymerization modification of ZIF-8 followed by pyrolysis. The HENC exhibits outstanding performance as a nonmetal electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), with activity on par with benchmark Pt/C electrocatalysts and superior cyclic stability.

The present work studies gel evolution and microstructure of geopolymers synthesized with volcanic ash (VA) and blast furnace slag (BFS). The synthesis parameters such as BFS proportions on geopolymer formation were investigated. Gel evolution and microstructure of the geopolymers were studied by FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Si NMR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy measurements.
