- Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a poor prognosis and the role of Tandem C2 domain nuclear protein (TC2N) in this cancer type is being investigated as it may act both as an oncogene and a tumor suppressor in different contexts.
- TC2N is found to be significantly upregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines, which correlates with tumor progression, with its overexpression promoting aggressive cancer behavior and its knockdown resulting in reduced proliferation and invasion of cancer cells.
- The study identifies TC2N's mechanism of action through activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, influencing key downstream targets, suggesting that targeting TC2N could be a viable treatment strategy for HCC.
Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of acupoint thread-embedding therapy at different intervals in the treatment of metabolic syndrome, and to find the optimal treatment interval.
Methods: A total of 70 patients with metabolic syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group 1 (＝35)and treatment group 2(＝35). Both groups were given acupoint thread-embedding therapy at Zhongwan (CV12), bilateral Liangmen (ST21), bilateral Huaroumen (ST24), bilateral Tianshu (ST25), bilateral Daimai (GB26), Guanyuan (CV4), bilateral Dachangshu (BL25), bilateral Pishu (BL20), bilateral Zusanli (ST36), bilateral Yinlingquan (SP9), and bilateral Fenglong (ST40), and the treatment interval was 7 d for treatment group 1 and 14 d for treatment group 2.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of domestic violence (DV) in Hunan.
Methods: Using a multi-stage sampling strategy, 9451 households involving 32 720 persons in urban, rural and industrial areas in Hunan, China were studied. Multiform clue investigation and face-to-face interviews were combined to investigate the prevalence of DV.
