Herein, microextrusion compression molding, an industrialized polymer molding technology that combines melt blending and compression molding, is proposed for the mass production of a bioinspired micro/nanostructured polyethylene/poly(ethylene oxide)/graphene (MN-PPG) film. The MN-PPG film exhibits robust shape stability, high storage energy density, and excellent thermal management capability owing to the cocontinuous network formed by poly(ethylene oxide) and the polyethylene matrix.

This experimental study investigated the effect of heating rate on mortar gas permeability and microstructure. The mortar was heated to three target temperatures (400 °C, 500 °C, and 600 °C) at three heating rates (5 °C/min,10 °C/min, and 15 °C/min). The variations of gas permeability and porosity were measured simultaneously at different confining pressures, and the changes in mortar microstructure were analyzed by NMR and SEM techniques.

Methods: Totally 66 patients with SCC and AC of the GEJ confirmed by pathological analysis were retrospectively enrolled, and underwent dual-phase contrast-enhancement chest CT with SDCT. Plain CT value, CT attenuation enhancement (△CT), iodine concentration (IC), spectral slope (λ), effective atomic number (Z) and 40keV CT value (CT) of the lesion in the arterial phase (AP) and venous phase (VP) were assessed.
Objectives: The reprogramming of lipid metabolism is a new trait of cancers. However, the role of lipid metabolism in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and the prognosis of gastric cancer remains unclear.
Methods: Consensus clustering was applied to identify novel subgroups.
Background: The management of modifiable risk factors and comorbidities may impact the future trajectory of cognitive impairment, but easy-to-implement management methods are lacking.
Aims: This study investigated the effects of simple but comprehensive cognitive health management practices on the cognitive function of older adults in the community with normal cognition (NC) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Methods: The comprehensive cognitive health management programme included a psychiatric assessment of the cognitive risk factors for those in the intervention groups and individualised recommendations for reducing the risks through self-management supported by regular medical professional follow-up.
Introduction: Falls are the leading cause of injury-related morbidity and mortality among older adults (aged ≥65 years) worldwide. However, previous studies examining sleep and falls were confined to community subpopulations, and few studies included both sleep quality and sleep duration when discussing risk factors of falls. This nationwide representative study aimed to examine the links between sleep duration, sleep quality and falls among Chinese community-dwelling older adults.

Here, flexible but reliable mechanisms are shown that achieve a remote-control bubble microrobot with multiple working modes and high maneuverability by the assistance of a soft air-liquid interface. This bubble microrobot is developed from a hollow Janus microsphere (JM) regulated by a magnetic field, which can implement switchable working modes like pusher, gripper, anchor, and sweeper.

However, it remains unknown whether macrophage thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) may regulate TBK1 function and cell death pathways during oxidative/ER stress.
Methods: A mouse model of hepatic ischaemia/reperfusion injury (IRI), the primary hepatocytes, and bone marrow-derived macrophages were used in the myeloid-specific TXNIP knockout (TXNIP) and TXNIP-proficient (TXNIP) mice.

While laser surface texturing is promising for the fabrication of planar surface microstructures, the continuously patterning with micrometer accuracy of non-planar surface on miniature parts with large curvature by laser ablation is challenging. In the present work, we demonstrate the feasibility of applying the proposed multi-axis laser milling in continuous patterning of 25 mm diameter spherical stainless steel with high uniformity and precision, based on a strategy of simultaneously adjusting the position and the posture of laser-surface interaction point for enabling the constant coincidence of laser beam with ablated surface normal. Specifically, a miniaturized five-axis platform for controlling workpiece motion with high degree-of-freedom is designed and integrated with a fixed nanosecond pulsed laser beam operating at 1064 nm.

The detection was conducted on a QTRAP 5500 tandem mass spectrometer coupled with electrospray ionization (ESI) source in positive ion mode. Quantification was achieved by positive electrospray ionization containing multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) transitions of m/z 271.

Materials And Methods: one month-old (young) mice were fed a calcium-deficient diet for 2 weeks and 8 month-old (adult) and 21-25 month-old (aged) female mice for 4 weeks during depletion, which was followed by feeding a calcium-sufficient diet for 16 days during repletion. To determine if prolonged repletion would improve bone repair, an additional group of aged mice were repleted for 4 additional weeks.
Lymphocyte antigen 6 family member D (LY6D) was enhanced specifically in senescent cells, while its effects on pyroptosis, a programmed cell death, remains unknown. The goal of this study was to assess the role of LY6D in the mediation of pyroptosis during nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). After screening out LY6D as a specific liver fibrosis-associated gene using the GSE55747 dataset from the GEO database, we established a NASH mouse model using methionine and choline deficient-diet feeding and an in vitro model using lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated hepatocytes.

Here, a highly sensitive and versatile dual-amplification electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensing platform was constructed for target detection based on DNA nanostructures and catalyzed hairpin assembly (CHA). Specifically, when the target DNA was present, it would hybridize with the auxiliary strands (D1 and D2) to form an I-shaped nanostructure, which in turn triggered the subsequent catalytic hairpin assembly reaction to generate plenty of double-stranded DNA complexes (H1-H2).

We compared interactions between Conyza canadensis, a global plant invader, and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in 17 plant populations in each native and non-native range spanning similar climate and soil fertility gradients. We then grew seedlings in the greenhouse inoculated with AM fungi from the native range.

First, we constructed a system of a small intestinal epithelial cell membrane that was close to the real proportion and investigated the effects of temperature, water layer thickness, and ionic strength on membrane properties to optimize environmental parameters. Next, three drugs with different absorptivity, including Ephedrine (EPH), Quercetin (QUE), and Baicalin (BAI), were selected as model drugs to study the ability of drugs through the membrane by the free diffusion and umbrella sampling simulation, and the drug permeation ability was characterized by the free diffusion coefficient D and free energy barrier (△G) in the processes.

Responses of soil aggregate stability and nutrient stoichiometry to land use change are of great significance to the protection and restoration of fragile ecosystems. In order to explore the influence of the law of land use change on soil aggregate stability and C, N, and P nutrient stoichiometric characteristics in the karst ecosystem of Southwest China, a typical region of the Southwest China Karst was selected as the study area. A series of sample plots were established for the seven typical land use types, and the constitution; stability; and C, N, and P contents and stoichiometric ratios of soil aggregates were studied.
