We report for the first time whole-genome sequencing of four multidrug-resistant sequence type (ST) 307 recovered from patients in two hospitals in Armenia. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the isolates were closely related, with a maximum of 39 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) differences in the core genome. All Armenian isolates carried the integrative and conjugative element ICE4, which bears the yersiniabactin locus, and shared a common evolutionary origin, diverging around 2005 (95% CI: 1999 to 2011).

Nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) has been extensively utilized in environmental remediation, but its reactivity in the presence of co-contaminants requires further investigation for effective application in complex environments. Here, we conducted batch removal experiments to systematically investigate the co-removal behaviors of Cd(II) and phosphate by nZVI. Results showed that nZVI can synergistically remove Cd(II) and phosphate in solution, with the removal efficiency of Cd(II) and phosphate in the binary system being approximately 2 and 5 times higher than those in the single system, respectively.

Optimizing catalysts through high-throughput screening for asymmetric catalysis is challenging due to the difficulty associated with assembling a library of catalyst analogues in a timely fashion. Here, we repurpose DNA excision repair and integrate it with bioorthogonal conjugation to construct a diverse array of DNA hybrid catalysts for highly accessible and high-throughput asymmetric DNA catalysis, enabling a dramatically expedited catalyst optimization process, superior reactivity and selectivity, as well as the first atroposelective DNA catalysis. The bioorthogonality of this conjugation strategy ensures exceptional tolerance toward diverse functional groups, thereby facilitating the facile construction of 44 DNA hybrid catalysts bearing various unprotected functional groups.
