N-methyladenosine (mA) of mRNAs modulated by the METTL3-METTL14-WTAP-RBM15 methyltransferase complex and mA demethylases such as FTO play important roles in regulating mRNA stability, splicing, and translation. Here, we demonstrate that FTO-IT1 long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) was upregulated and positively correlated with poor survival of patients with wild-type p53-expressing prostate cancer (PCa). mA RIP-seq analysis revealed that FTO-IT1 knockout increased mRNA mA methylation of a subset of p53 transcriptional target genes (e.

The one-photon absorption properties (OPA), two-photon absorption properties (TPA), electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra and partial DOS (PDOS) of a twist bilayer graphdiyne nanodisk (TwBLGDY-ND) were investigated by using a variety of quantum chemistry and wave function analyses. The physical mechanism of the twist bilayer graphdiyne nanodisk (TwBLGDY) with optical properties regulated by twisting angles was revealed. The results show that the twist angle makes the TwBLGDY form a moiré superlattice structure, and electron excitation mainly occurs in the first ring of the moiré superlattice structure.

Dense video caption is a task that aims to help computers analyze the content of a video by generating abstract captions for a sequence of video frames. However, most of the existing methods only use visual features in the video and ignore the audio features that are also essential for understanding the video. In this paper, we propose a fusion model that combines the Transformer framework to integrate both visual and audio features in the video for captioning.

γδ T cells make key contributions to tissue physiology and immunosurveillance through two main functionally distinct subsets, γδ T1 and γδ T17. m6A methylation plays critical roles in controlling numerous aspects of mRNA metabolism that govern mRNA turnover, gene expression, and cellular functional specialization; however, its role in γδ T cells remains less well understood. Here, we find that m6A methylation controls the functional specification of γδ T17 vs.

Aziridines are commonly used as reagents for the synthesis of drug substances although they are potentially mutagenic and genotoxic. Therefore, their unambiguous detection is critically important. Unfortunately, tandem mass spectrometry (MS) based on collision-activated dissociation (CAD), a powerful method used for the identification of many unknown compounds in complex mixtures, does not provide diagnostic fragmentation patterns for ionized aziridines.

Pain is a multi-dimensional emotional experience, and pain sensation and pain emotion are the two main components. As for pain, previous studies only focused on a certain link of the pain transmission pathway or a certain key brain region, and there is a lack of evidence that connectivity of brain regions is involved in pain or pain regulation in the overall state. The establishment of new experimental tools and techniques has brought light to the study of neural pathways of pain sensation and pain emotion.

Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) is a key protein in inflammation and contributes to tumor progression. However, the role of IL-1β in cancer is ambiguous or even contradictory. Here, we found that upon IL-1β stimulation, nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT) in cancer cells is acetylated at lysine (K) 1042 (NNT K1042ac) and thereby induces the mitochondrial translocation of p300/CBP-associated factor (PCAF).

In experimental stroke research, middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) with an intraluminal filament is widely used to model ischemic stroke in mice. The filament MCAO model typically exhibits a massive cerebral infarction in C57Bl/6 mice that sometimes includes brain tissue in the territory supplied by the posterior cerebral artery, which is largely due to a high incidence of posterior communicating artery atresia. This phenomenon is considered a major contributor to the high mortality rate observed in C57Bl/6 mice during long-term stroke recovery after filament MCAO.
