The study aimed to assess the occurrence and risk factors of major depression disorder (MDD) among local teachers shortly after the Lushan earthquake.
A total of 319 teachers were evaluated for MDD using a diagnostic tool, with additional factors assessed through a self-developed questionnaire.
Findings indicated that 4.7% of teachers had MDD, with higher risks for those with injured relatives and inhabitable homes, while feeling anxious post-earthquake served as a protective factor.
