Spectrophotometric determination of procaine hydrochloride is described. The procaine hydrochloride reacts with 1,2-naphthoquinone-4-sulfonic acid in pH 3.60 buffer solution to form a salmon pink compound, and its maximum absorption wavelength is at 484 nm, epsilon(484)=5.

Using the same MDCT data obtained for coronary artery assessment, left ventricular (LV) volumes such as end-diastolic (ED) and end-systolic (ES) volumes (EDV and ESV, respectively) and ejection fraction (EF) can potentially be assessed when ED and ES datasets are extracted. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of MDCT in the assessment of LV volumes.

Photoautotrophic carrot callus was induced by gradually lowering the sucrose concentration in culture medium. In the course of induction, the net photosynthetic rate on chlorophyll basis of callus increased gradually with the decreasing of sucrose concentration in culture medium, and the net photosynthetic rate of photoautotrophic callus could even be higher than that of leaf. In the course of changing into photoautotrophic callus, its chlorophyll content increased gradually, and the dark respiratory rate and the ratio of Chl a/Chl b decreased gradually.

Macaques infected with the simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) SIVmac were employed to determine the extent to which a coincident AIDS virus infection might compromise immune responses of mycobacterium-specific Vgamma2Vdelta2(+) T cells during active mycobacterial infection. Control SIVmac-negative macaques developed primary and recall expansions of phosphoantigen-specific Vgamma2Vdelta2(+) T cells after Mycobacterium bovis BCG infection and BCG reinfection, respectively.

We discuss the potential benefits of the newly developed cardiac application, demonstrating informative cases.Two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) cardiac images were produced throughout one cardiac cycle.

Multisector reconstruction is a newly developed algorithm for multirow detector CT in cardiac study. Using volume data sets obtained by ECG-gated scanning, we can reconstruct cardiac images at any desired phase of the cardiac cycle retrospectively. In retro-processing multiplanar and three-dimensional images, thin-slice images with overlapping increment have a great advantage due to increasing z-axis resolution.

These phosphoantigen-specific gammadelta T cells displayed major expansion during Mycobacterium bovis Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) infection and a clear memory-type response after BCG reinfection. Primary and recall expansions of Vgamma2Vdelta2+ T cells were also seen during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection of naive and BCG-vaccinated macaques, respectively.

Macaque models of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV(mac))-Mycobacterium bovis BCG coinfection were employed to explore the pathogenesis of AIDS virus-related tuberculosis. Following BCG coinfection, SIV (SIV)-infected macaques with high viral loads developed an SIV-related tuberculosis-like disease.
