In this work, with parathion, a typical forbidden organophosphate pesticide as target drug, an enhanced nanobody-driven bioluminescent immunoassay based on the engineered split-nanoluciferase (NanoLuc) was proposed. Concretely, through labeling 11S and β10, two split-NanoLuc units onto the anti-parathion nanobody (Nb) VHH9 and the artificial antigen H1 coupled with carrier protein ovalbumin (H1-OVA) respectively, an NanoLuc Binary Technology (NanoBiT) system was firstly developed in the form of homogeneous immunoassay, in which the luminescence signal was produced by the reassembled NanoLuc after the combination of the 11S-fused VHH9 and β10-labeled H1-OVA. Subsequently, in order to enhance the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, a novel strategy of splitting 11S into two smaller subunits Δ11S and β9 was adopted so then an NanoLuc Ternary Technology (NanoTeT) system based on tri-part components of β9-fused VHH9, β10-labeled H1-OVA and Δ11S was successfully established.

Background: 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) induced toxic encephalopathy, a rare toxic disease of the central nervous system, is mainly reported in developing countries. Although clinicians have got some understanding about the clinical and neuroimaging features of 1,2-DCE-induced toxic encephalopathy, abnormality along the cortico-medullary junction on diffusion-weighted image (DWI) mimicking neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) has not yet been described in this entity.

Case Presentation: We reported a patient with 1,2-DCE-induced toxic encephalopathy who was admitted to our department due to a 7-day history of nausea, vomiting, and cognitive decline.

Since the discovery of antibiotics, they have served as a potent weapon against bacterial infections; however, natural evolution has allowed bacteria to adapt and develop coping mechanisms, ultimately leading to the concerning escalation of multidrug resistance. Bacterial persisters are a subpopulation that can survive briefly under high concentrations of antibiotic treatment and resume growth after lethal stress. Importantly, bacterial persisters are thought to be a significant cause of ineffective antibiotic therapy and recurrent infections in clinical practice and are thought to contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common clinical problem, and patients who survive AKI have a high risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD). 4-Alkylation of pyridines has been achieved by a photocatalyzed three-component reaction of an olefin, an aryloxyacetic acid, and cyanopyridine using Ir[dF(CF)ppy](dtbbpy)PF as a photocatalyst. In this way, a new type of 4-alkylpyridines bearing aryl and aryloxy substituents on the phenyl was accessed with potential pharmaceutical value. In addition to mild reaction conditions, the method has several other advantages, including a multicomponent one-pot protocol, good functional group tolerance, and easy amplification of the reaction scale.
