Background: Erlotinib, a small-molecule epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, demonstrated therapeutic efficacy against pancreatic cancer. However, acquired resistance to erlotinib in pancreatic cancer is widely observed, and the exact mechanisms have not been fully explored until now. We examined the role of circular RNA circ_0013587 in the acquired resistance to erlotinib in pancreatic cancer cells and explored the underlying mechanisms.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) activation has been reported to exert protective effects on podocytes, whereas angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) has been shown to exert significant pathogenic effects on these cells. This study aimed to investigate the link between the protective effects of PPARα activation and the pathogenic effects of ANGPTL3 in podocytes. Both PPARα and ANGPTL3 were expressed in cultured podocytes.

Objective: Our aim was to explore the influence of humanistic care based on Carolina care model on postoperative recovery and quality of life in patients with ovarian cancer (OC).

Methods: In this prospective study, we selected 85 OC patients and randomly divided them into the Carolina group (n = 43) given humanistic care based on Carolina care model and the control group (n = 42) given routine nursing intervention. The postoperative recovery and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Ovary Cancer (FACT-O) scores were compared between the two groups.
