Sociocultural Influences on Arab Women's Participation in Breast Cancer Screening in Qatar.

Breast cancer, the most common cancer among Arab women in Qatar, significantly affects the morbidity and mortality of Arab women largely because of low participation rates in breast cancer screening. We used a critical ethnographic approach to uncover and describe factors that influence Arab women's breast cancer screening practices. We conducted semistructured interviews with 15 health care practitioners in Qatar.

Facilitated advance care planning: what is the patient experience?

There is little known about the patient experience of participating in facilitated advance care planning (ACP). We conducted a grounded theory study with facilitated ACP participants who had endstage renal disease. A theoretical model "a positive thing: peace of mind" emerged.

Collective soul: the spirituality of an interdisciplinary palliative care team.

Objective: Although spirituality as it relates to patients is gaining increasing attention, less is known about how health care professionals (HCP) experience spirituality personally or collectively in the workplace. This study explores the collective spirituality of an interdisciplinary palliative care team, by studying how individuals felt about their own spirituality, whether there was a shared sense of a team spirituality, how spirituality related to the care the team provided to patients and whether they felt that they provided spiritual care.
