Barriers and facilitators of the application of precision medicine to the genitourinary cancer care pathway: Perspective from a low- and middle- income country in sub-Saharan Africa.

The benefit of the delivery of the right form of cancer care, tailored to the right patient, at the right time is increasingly being recognized in the global oncology community. Information on the role and feasible potential of precision oncology during the management of genitourinary cancer in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, is limited. This article, therefore, describes the present application of personalized medicine in Nigeria and its barriers and facilitators.

Home-based care models for patients with terminal illnesses in low and middle-income countries: A systematic review of randomized and quasi-experimental studies.

Background: With the increasing lifespan of people and the transition from communicable to non-communicable diseases across the globe, there is an increasing number of people with terminal illnesses requiring home-based care in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

Aim: This systematic review evaluated home-based care models for patients with terminal illnesses in LMICs. The primary outcomes measured are quality of life (QoL), adherence to treatment, fatigue, bimanual and related activities.

Health, well-being, and burnout amongst Early Career Doctors in Nigeria.

Background: Early Career Doctors (ECDs) in Nigeria are faced with many individual and systemic problems, which consequently adversely affect their health, well-being, patient care and safety.

Objective: This study, the second phase of the Challenges of Residency Training and Early Career Doctors in Nigeria (CHARTING II) Study, sought to examine the risk factors and contributors to the health, well-being and burnout amongst Nigerian ECDs.

Methods: This was a study of health, well-being and burnout amongst Nigerian ECDs.
