The transverse vaginal septum is a rare form of Mullerian duct anomaly, and is a disorder of vertical fusion of Mullerian system with the sinovaginal bulb. Article Synopsis
  • Phthalate esters (PAEs), commonly used as plasticizers, pose serious environmental health risks as some are suspected mutagens and carcinogens due to their leaching into the environment during production and disposal.
  • A study identified 10 types of PAEs leaching from various drinking sources, with significant amounts found in water cooler and baby feeder samples, particularly noting that boiling reduced leaching by 26-54%.
  • Additionally, a biodegradation experiment using Bacillus thuringiensis showed it effectively degraded 75-96% of the leached PAEs under optimal conditions, highlighting the need for urgent remediation strategies.
