Objectives: To assess the knowledge, practice and challenges faced by general dental practitioners (GDPs), paediatric dentists (PDs) and postgraduate paediatric dentistry students (PGPDSs) in diagnosing and managing early orthodontic problems.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
Methods: A total of 159 dentists were enrolled in this study (121 GDPs, 21 PDs and 17 PGPDSs).
Background: Cleft lip and palate(CL/P)is the most common orofacial malformation affecting one in every 700-1000 newborns worldwide. The aim of the study wasto evaluate the impact of CL/P on health- related quality of life (OHRQoL) in Sudanese children and the level of concordance between caregivers' and children and to investigate correlates of the caregivers' perceptions of OHRQoL with that of their children.
Methods: The sample consisted of 75 children with clefts (age range 8-16 years), (46 male, 29 female) and their caregivers' attending University of Science and Technology Dental Teaching Hospital.

Objective: This study compared the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among children with a cleft lip with or without a cleft palate (CL±P) and a group of their peers. The reliability of the Arabic version of the Child Oral Health Impact Profile Questionnaire (COHIP) was also assessed.
Design: A cross-sectional study.
Introduction: In this clinical trial, we evaluated and compared bond failure rates of light-cured composite resin vs chemical-cured composite resin for 12 months.
Methods: Twenty-two subjects (356 stainless steel brackets) were included in this study, and a split-mouth design was used to randomly allocate diagonally opposite quadrants to either chemical-cured (178 brackets) or light-cured (178 brackets) composite resin; the brackets came from the same manufacturer. The survival and failure rates of the brackets were evaluated by the mode of polymerization.
Objective: To test the applicability of the Tanaka and Johnston equation for prediction of the mesiodistal width of unerupted permanent teeth in a Sudanese population and to develop a new prediction equation for this specific population if necessary.
Design: A descriptive, cross-sectional study.
Settings: School-based study.
