Background: There is a relation between sleep quality, mental health, and academic performance among medical students. Students who experience better sleep quality and have good mental health will exhibit higher academic performance compared to those who have reduced sleep quality and poor psychological health.

Objective: To assess the relation between mental health problems, sleep quality, and academic performance among medical students in the stage of clinical training at the University of Fallujah, Iraq.

Background: In homozygous β-thalassemia, the primary genetic modifiers affecting the clinical severity of β-thalassemia are genetic variants and the ability to reduce globin chain imbalance, thus resulting in a milder form of thalassemia. However, there are few reports on the molecular genetics of β-thalassemia in Iraq.

Methods: We performed PCR and DNA sequencing on 40 Iraqi patients who were clinically suspected of having β-thalassemia.

Objective: Several methods for synthesizing 2-thiohydantoin derivatives have been devised and exploited, and they have found widespread application as antioxidants, antimicrobials, antivirals, and anticancer agents. As a result, we tried to understand the underlying processes of the 2- thiohydantoin derivative's anti-LIHC activity.

Methods: We predicted the anticancer mechanism of N-(4-oxo-5-(2-oxo-2-(p-tolylamino)ethyl)-3- phenyl-2-thioxoimidazolidin-1-yl)benzamide as a derivative of 2-thiohydantoin by utilizing molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulation.

Background: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) have been associated with a greater risk of later criminal offending. However, existing research in this area has been primarily conducted in Western developed countries and cross-cultural studies are rare.

Objectives: This study examined the relationship between ACEs and criminal behaviors in young adults living in 10 countries located across five continents, after accounting for sex, age, and cross-national differences.

Background: Breast cancer is one of the most frequent malignancies in women, and it is a major cause of cancer death worldwide, as well as one of the leading causes of cancer mortality. Traditional herbal therapy has been widely used in some developing countries as a complementary and alternative technique. Because of their low toxicity, medicinal edible plants have been allowed to minimize the risk of breast cancer and other diseases.

Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) is a highly selective method that reduces the time and number of solvents used, has high efficiency, and is environmentally friendly. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant, anticancer, and antibacterial activities of Iraqi Terfezia claveryi desert truffle extract and silver nanoparticles by MAE using water and hexane as extraction solvents. Chemical compositions were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder in women with unknown causes and is the leading cause of infertility in women of reproductive age, presenting a wide range of clinical manifestations worldwide. The objective of study is to compare the correlation between hormones, lipid profile, oxidative stress and Zinc concentration in PCOS patients.

Methods: The present study examined hormone levels (progesterone, prolactin, luteinizing and follicle stimulation hormones (LH and FSH, respectively), antioxidant factors (catalase, glutathione-s- transferase), lipid profiles and zinc concentration of 50 Iraqi women patients' diagnosis with PCOS and 40 healthy women, divided in two age groups of 15-29 and 30-45 years.

To investigate the behaviour of the organic memory transistors, graphene oxide (GO) was utilized as the floating gate in 6,13-Bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)pentacene (TIPS-pentacene)-based organic memory transistors. A cross-linked, off-centre spin-coated and ozone-treated poly(methyl methacrylate) (cPMMA) was used as the insulating layer. High mobility and negligible hysteresis with very clear transistor behaviour were observed for the control transistors.
