Background: There is a relation between sleep quality, mental health, and academic performance among medical students. Students who experience better sleep quality and have good mental health will exhibit higher academic performance compared to those who have reduced sleep quality and poor psychological health.

Objective: To assess the relation between mental health problems, sleep quality, and academic performance among medical students in the stage of clinical training at the University of Fallujah, Iraq.

Identification of novel mutations in β-thalassemia patients in Maysan Governorate, Iraq.

Background: In homozygous β-thalassemia, the primary genetic modifiers affecting the clinical severity of β-thalassemia are genetic variants and the ability to reduce globin chain imbalance, thus resulting in a milder form of thalassemia. However, there are few reports on the molecular genetics of β-thalassemia in Iraq.

Methods: We performed PCR and DNA sequencing on 40 Iraqi patients who were clinically suspected of having β-thalassemia.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder in women with unknown causes and is the leading cause of infertility in women of reproductive age, presenting a wide range of clinical manifestations worldwide. The objective of study is to compare the correlation between hormones, lipid profile, oxidative stress and Zinc concentration in PCOS patients.

Methods: The present study examined hormone levels (progesterone, prolactin, luteinizing and follicle stimulation hormones (LH and FSH, respectively), antioxidant factors (catalase, glutathione-s- transferase), lipid profiles and zinc concentration of 50 Iraqi women patients' diagnosis with PCOS and 40 healthy women, divided in two age groups of 15-29 and 30-45 years.

Purpose: To investigate and compare the degree of Streptococcus mutans (SM) colonization before and after in vitro wear simulation on monolithic zirconia (MZ), lithium disilicate (LD), ceramo-metal (CM), and composite resin (CR) specimens.

Materials And Methods: Sixteen circular discs (10 × 3 mm) were fabricated for each group (MZ, LD, CR, CM). Half of the samples from each group (n = 8) were subjected to a wear cycle (n = 32 in total).

Improved Memory Properties of Graphene Oxide-Based Organic Memory Transistors.

To investigate the behaviour of the organic memory transistors, graphene oxide (GO) was utilized as the floating gate in 6,13-Bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)pentacene (TIPS-pentacene)-based organic memory transistors. A cross-linked, off-centre spin-coated and ozone-treated poly(methyl methacrylate) (cPMMA) was used as the insulating layer. High mobility and negligible hysteresis with very clear transistor behaviour were observed for the control transistors.
