Objective: to analyze correspondence between determination of vascular age of patients with cardiovascular diseases by volumetric sphygmography and their chronological age, and to assess the influence of lipid factors and atherosclerotic lesions in carotid arteries (CA) on parameters associated with the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI).
Material And Methods: Clinical, laboratory and instrumental examination which included volumetric sphygmography was carried out in 185 patients with various cardiovascular diseases. Calculated vascular age was determined on the basis of graphic conversion of ratio of CAVI and true age of a patient.
To clarify prognosis and therapeutic approaches to mild and moderate aortal regurgitations (AR) silent clinically but identified at Doppler echocardiography, the authors followed up for 3 years 35 AR patients aged 22-73 years. AR and left ventricular function (LVF) were measured on echocardiograph Sonos-1000 (Hewlett-Packard, USA). Mild AR had a favourable prognosis, LVF remained intact, no symptoms of AR occurred.

It was shown that the migration rate of stem cells in old (NZB X NZW) F(1) mice decreases. Despite the age the granulopoietic differentia of stem cells was inhibited in these mice.
