Background And Objectives: Effective communication between inpatient and primary care providers (PCPs) is important for safe transition of care for hospitalized patients. In 2017, communication with PCPs was prioritized for the pediatric hospital medicine division. Our primary aim was to improve documented attempted communication with PCPs within 72 hours of discharge from 41% to at least 60% by January 1, 2018, and maintain this performance through 2019.

Objective: To determine if individualized case discussions enhance interest in pediatric medicine.
Methods: During the 2008/2009 academic year, 88 clerkship students participated in clinical case discussions.
Two hundred twenty-eight surveyed parents reported that their 5 to 7 year old children drank approximately 52 mg of caffeine daily and their 8 to 12 year old children drank 109 mg daily. Caffeine consumption and hours slept were significantly negatively correlated, but caffeine consumption and enuresis were not significantly correlated. Spanish-speaking parents reported fewer bedwetting events than their English-speaking peers.
