Abrus precatorius is a tropical medicinal plant with multiple medicinal benefits whose seeds have not yet been studied against cervical cancer. Herein, we have assessed the antioxidant and antiproliferative properties of seed extracts (ethyl acetate and 70% ethanol) prepared from Soxhlet and Maceration extraction methods against Hep2C and HeLa Cells. We observed that the APE (Sox) extract had a significantly higher total flavonoid content, APA (Mac) extract had a high total phenolic content, and APA (Sox) extract had a high total tannin content.

Purpose: Trauma is a major cause for facial fractures commonly encountered by maxillofacial surgeons. Mandible is commonly involved in facial trauma resulting in an isolated fracture or associated with other facial bones due to its prominent location in the facial skeleton. This study was undertaken to investigate the quality of life (QoL) post-operatively in patients diagnosed with undisplaced parasymphysis fracture who underwent open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) under local anesthesia (LA) using the twin mix (TM) solution.

The present study focuses on the antiproliferative activity of polyphenolic flavonoids found in defatted seeds of and with the regulatory function of tumor suppressor genes inducing Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Polyphenolic flavonoid in extracts was characterized using chromatographic analysis and has confirmed the presence of quercetin, rutin and tannic acid in the extracts of and . According to DPPH assay and reducing power assays, free radical scavenging was found to be high in ethanolic extract of defatted seeds.

A 65-year-old male with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and non-clearing vitreous hemorrhage underwent 25G pars plana vitrectomy (PPV). A large disk of thick organized blood of 5 disk diameter (DD) size was encountered in subhyaloid space. All attempts including lower cut rates to remove this disk using a 25G cutter turned futile.

HIV/AIDS is a multisystemic disorder and occurrence of cardiovascular disease is higher compared to non-HIV individuals. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) remains a rare and underdiagnosed cause of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), even in modern day era. SCAD is predominantly seen in young to middle aged females and present as a non-atherosclerotic cause of myocardial ischaemia, infarction or sudden cardiac death (SCD); with or without ventricular arrythmias.

Magnetic MnFeO nanoparticles and polymer coated magnetic-luminescent MnFeO@(Y,Dy/Eu)VO nanocomposites were prepared to study their comparative heat generation efficiency and biocompatibilities. Cubic crystalline phases were obtained for the nanoparticles and cubic-tetragonal biphasic phases were observed for the nanocomposites. The successful doping of Mn was also confirmed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy.

Unlabelled: Viral infections are progressively becoming a global health burden, as witnessed in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is another highly contagious negative-sense RNA virus that causes lower respiratory tract infections and high mortality in infants. Palivizumab (Synagis) is the only humanized monoclonal antibody (mAb) approved by the FDA against RSV.

The shift in food consumption pattern to accommodate an array of bioactive compounds in foods with minimum calorie intake has resulted in the development of many novel beverages in the last decade. In the present study, optimization of apricot (AP; 0-50%) blended (AV; 50-100%) based low-calorie beverage functionally enriched with aonla juice (AJ; 3,5,7,10%) using steviol glycoside (SG; 0-100%) was performed. The preliminary screening suggested that 40% addition of AP (AV-AP; 60:40) had an acceptable taste.

The fabrication with high energy density and superior electrical/electrochemical properties of hierarchical porous 3D cross-linked graphene-based supercapacitors is one of the most urgent challenges for developing high-power energy supplies. We facilely synthesized a simple, eco-friendly, cost-effective heteroatoms (nitrogen, phosphorus, and fluorine) co-doped graphene oxide (NPFG) reduced by hydrothermal functionalization and freeze-drying approach with high specific surface areas and hierarchical pore structures. The effect of different heteroatoms doping on the energy storage performance of the synthesized reduced graphene oxide is investigated extensively.

Purpose: To compare the clinical profile of COVID-related and non-COVID-related rhino-orbito-cerebral invasive fungal disease.

Methods: We have compared the comorbidities, clinical features, course of the disease and outcome between COVID-related and non-COVID-related acute invasive fungal rhinosinusitis (AIFRS) of the rhino-orbito-cerebral form.

Results: HbA1c and blood sugar at the time of admission were significantly higher in the non-COVID group (P < 0.

Frailty is common in older hospitalised heart-failure (HF) patients but is not routinely assessed. The hospital frailty-risk score (HFRS) can be generated from administrative data, but it needs validation in Australian health-care settings. This study determined the HFRS scores at presentation to hospital in 5735 HF patients ≥ 75 years old, admitted over a period of 7 years, at two tertiary hospitals in Australia.

Unlabelled: Relative humidity plays an important role in climate change and global warming, making it a research area of greater concern in recent decades. The present study attempted to implement seasonal autoregressive moving average (SARIMA) and artificial neural network (ANN) with multilayer perceptron (MLP) models to forecast the monthly relative humidity in Delhi, India during 2017-2025. The average monthly relative humidity data for the period 2000-2016 have been used to carry out the objectives of the proposed study.

Although the impairment of quality of life (QoL) in individuals with keloids is profound, it has neither been well quantified nor correlated with severity in people with skin of colour. This cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study comprised 110 patients with keloid(s). A physician measured the severity of keloids using the Vancouver Scar scale and impairment of QoL using the patient-filled Hindi version of Dermatology Life Quality Index questionnaire.

The Vieussens' artery is an anastomotic communication between the conus branch of the right coronary artery and the left anterior descending (LAD). Vieussens' ring is so named because it circles around the great vessels in the form of a partial ring. The course of the artery can be best understood in 2 orthogonal views.

Context: The proposed technique uses the edge-preserving capabilities of cross-bilateral filter (CBF) and artificial intelligence technique adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to fuse multi-modality medical images.

Aims: The aim is to present the unlike information onto a single image as each modality of medical image contains the unalike domain of information.

Settings And Design: First, the multi-modality medical images are decomposed using CBF by tuning its parameters: radiometric and geometric sigma producing CBF component and detail component.

Chirayata-the whole dried plant of Swertia chirayita-is an important traditional drug of Indian System of Medicines. A novel reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method has been developed for the simultaneous determination and quantification of amaroswerin, amarogentin and andrographolide in a herbal drug "Chirayata," which is oftenly adulterated/substituted with herbal drug Kalmegh. The developed method is in accordance with International Council for Harmonization guidelines and is simple, precise, accurate, rapid, reproducible and specific to determine amarogentin, amaroswerin and andrographolide.
