The operation effectiveness of groundwater remediation using groundwater circulation well (GCW) technology is influenced by various process parameters. Currently, there is no uniform standard for the design of structure parameters and hydrodynamic control parameters of GCW to optimize the operation performance. This study discusses the influence of well structure, including screen position and screen length, as well as hydrodynamic control parameters, including flow rate and circulation method, on the operation effectiveness of GCW with a two-dimensional laboratory-scale GCW system and physical experiments.

We investigated the effect of CMC dosage on dispersibility and sedimentation of FeS, and the effects of initial Cr(VI) concentrations, reaction temperatures and initial pH values on the Cr(VI) removal by Nano-FeS and CMC-FeS through experiments. At the same time, the migration performance and deposition of Nano-FeS and CMC-FeS under different conditions were investigated. The results showed that: Nano-FeS aggregated to floc and precipitated.

The budding yeast is well suited to studying these mechanisms because many of its transcripts are transported from the mother cell to the budding daughter cell. Here, we investigated the translational control of mRNA after transport and localization.

In the miR-200 family, miR-200c was especially enriched in undifferentiated hESCs and significantly downregulated in EBs.

To prevent drug resistance and increase the therapeutic efficacy of treating AML, the development of new combinatory drug therapies is necessary. Sonic hedgehog (Shh) is expressed in AML biopsies and is essential for the drug resistance of cancer stem cells of AML.

Revealing the underlying mechanism of ESC characteristics is important for the application of ESCs in clinical medicine. We performed systematic functional screen in mouse ESCs with 4,801 shRNAs that target 929 kinases and phosphatases.

In this study, we have re-examined this issue by analyzing the transcriptome of a purified population of human mature erythrocytes from individuals with normal hemoglobin (HbAA) and homozygous sickle cell disease (HbSS).
Methods And Findings: Using a combination of microarray analysis, real-time RT-PCR and Northern blots, we found that mature erythrocytes, while lacking ribosomal and large-sized RNAs, contain abundant and diverse microRNAs.
Although spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) is known to be important in hematopoietic cell development, the roles of Syk in epithelial cells have not been well studied. Limited data suggest that Syk plays alternate roles in carcinogenesis under different circumstances. In breast cancer, Syk has been suggested to be a tumor suppressor.

To investigate the roles of MMPs in the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), the expression of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-12, MMP-13, MMP-14, and MMP-19 was explored by microarray assay. Among them, MMP-1 was significantly up-regulated in NPC biopsies.

However, the function of LMP2A is still veiled. In this study, LMP2A was found to induce the kinase activities of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and c-Jun N-terminal kinase/stress-activated protein kinase JNK/SAPK.
