Eel () is an important and valuable food fish in East Asia and its by-products have been reported to include bioactive and profitable components. This study aimed to extract, characterise, and compare the structure and properties of acid-soluble collagens (ASCs) and pepsin-soluble collagens (PSCs) from the skin and bone of eel (), providing insights into their composition, structure, and properties for various applications. The yields of ASC-S (from skin), PSC-S (from skin), ASC-B (from bone), and PSC-B (from bone) were 12.

The results indicated that the E-nose was able to effectively distinguish between the samples prepared using different cooking methods. In the raw, steamed, boiled and baked samples, 37, 23, 33 and 35 volatiles were detected, respectively.

We here demonstrate a new approach to form the unusual structures on 4H-SiC crystal surface under irradiation of three collinear temporally delayed femtosecond laser beams (800 nm wavelength, 50 fs duration, 1 kHz repetition), with orthogonal linear polarizations. Different types of surface structures, two-dimensional arrays of square islands (670 nm periodicity) and one-dimensional ripple structures (678 nm periodicity) are found to uniformly distribute over the laser-exposed areas, both of which are remarkably featured by the low spatial frequency.

Germanene, though with Dirac valleys, is not deemed as a good valleytronic material due to its minute band gap, negligible spin-orbit coupling and spatial inversion symmetry. In comparison of interfacing germanene with MoS, we proposed that forming heterostructure with TlS, an anti-MoS material with two outer heavy metal layers, could be more effective in raising spin-orbit coupling and band gap in germanene due to the direct Ge-metal contact. By carrying out first-principles calculations, we studied the valleytronic properties of germanene enhanced by monolayer TlS.

The results show that together with sunlight exposure, Ag induces the polymerization of aniline accompanied by self-reduction to form a Ag@PANI core-shell nanostructure, and consequently, exfoliates the graphite sheet into graphene. Through a PANI shell, Ag@PANI nanoparticles all anchor onto the surface of graphene, forming a stable ternary structure.

However, the mechanisms involved in the migration of activated CSCs post‑MI remain to be clarified. In this study, CSCs were isolated from rat hearts and a cellular migration assay was performed using a 24‑well Transwell system.

Methods: The clinical data of 43,289 hospitalized neonates from 86 hospitals in 47 Chinese cities (22 provinces) between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005 were retrospectively analyzed.
Results: The male:female ratio was 1.
