Polarization gradient cooling (PGC) plays an important role in many cold atom applications including the formation of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) and cooling of single atoms. Traditional parameter optimization of PGC usually relies on subjective expertise, faces challenges in fine manipulation, and exhibits low optimization efficiency. Here, we propose a segmented control method that differs from the traditional PGC process by expanding the experiment parameters from 3 to 30.

Herein, MXene-based composite aerogel (MXene-Fe aerogel) are constructed by a one-step freeze-drying method, using TiCT MXene layers as substrate material and ferrous ion (Fe) as crosslinking agent. With the aid of the Fe induced Fenton reaction, the synthesized aerogels are used as the particle electrodes to remove phenol from wastewater with three-dimensional electrode technology. Combined with the dual roles of Fe and the highly conductive MXene, the obtained particle electrode possesses extremely effective phenol degradation.

Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) based on dielectric metamaterials has attracted attentions in recent years because of its functional manipulation of electromagnetic waves and high refractive index sensitivity, such as high transmission, sharp phase change, and large group delay, etc. In this paper, an active controlled EIT effect based on a graphene-dielectric hybrid metamaterial is proposed in the near infrared region. By changing the Fermi level of the top-covered graphene, a dynamic EIT effect with a high quality factor (Q-factor) is realized, which exhibits a tunable, slow, light performance with a maximum group index of 2500.
