- The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of metagenomic next generation sequencing (mNGS) compared to traditional methods like fungal culture, (1,3)-β-D glucan (G) test, and galactomannan (GM) test in diagnosing invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA).
- A total of 136 patients were analyzed, with 66 diagnosed with IPA, and mNGS showed a sensitivity of 53.03%, outperforming the other traditional tests which had lower sensitivities. Combining these tests increased the overall diagnostic sensitivity to 69.70%.
