Identifying TYMP as an Immune Prognostic Marker in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Background: In clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), only some patients can benefit from immunotherapy therapy, and it is urgent to find immune-related molecular markers and targets.

Methods: Thymidine phosphorylase (TYMP) expression level and predictive value in pan-cancers were analyzed using TIMER, GEPIA2, and The Human Protein Atlas. We obtained ccRCC tissues to verify the differential expression of TYMP and confirmed the biological function in vitro.

ARL4C Regulates the Progression of Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma by Affecting the Wnt/-Catenin Signaling Pathway.

Purpose: To investigate the expression of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF)-like proteins (ARLs) and ARL4C in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) based on bioinformatics analysis and experimentally determine the effect and mechanism of ARL4C on cellular properties involved in ccRCC progression.

Methods: After downloading the data of cancer patients from the TCGA database, we used various bioinformatics analysis websites and methods to analyze the expression and function of ARLs and ARL4C. The differential expression of ARL4C in clinical renal cancer tissues versus adjacent normal tissues was further verified using immunohistochemistry and real-time quantitative reverse-transcription (qRT-PCR).

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are major innate immune cells that play crucial roles in prostate cancer onset and progression. Recently, increasing evidence has suggested that elevated N6-adenine methylation of mRNA is observed in prostate cancer tissues and is closely associated with a poor prognosis. However, its role in prostate cancer-associated macrophages remains poorly understood.

Concomitant management of renal calculi and recurrent ureteropelvic junction obstruction with percutaneous nephrolithotomy and antegrade balloon dilation.

Objective: This study aimed to present our experience of concomitant management of renal calculi and recurrent ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) with percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and antegrade balloon dilation.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 31 patients who underwent PCNL and antegrade balloon dilation for treatment of renal calculi and recurrent UPJO. The inclusion criterion was the presence of UPJO after failed pyeloplasty with ipsilateral renal calculi.

Paclitaxel is a first-line microtubule-stabilizing drug in treating prostate cancer. However, most patients develop resistance and experience relapse. Morin (3,5,7,20,40-pentahydroxyflavone) is an anti-tumor flavonoid in a numerous types of cancer cells including breast, ovarian and lung cancers.

This study was to investigate the involvement of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) colon cancer-associated transcript-1 (CCAT1) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and to further uncover its underlying mechanism. In this study, the expression of CCAT1 and Livin of RCC tissues or cells was determined using qRT-PCR (quantitative real-time PCR) and western blot, respectively. RNA pulldown and RIP (RNA-Binding Protein Immunoprecipitation) assays were performed to examine the sequence interaction between CCAT1 and Livin.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to play a critical role in cancer development and progression. LncRNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT-1) is a kidney cancer-associated onco-lncRNA involved in the progression of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, the pathological role of lncRNA MALAT-1 in RCC proliferation and metastasis remains poorly understood.
