Understanding the enhancing mechanisms of graphene oxide (GO) on the pore structure characteristics in the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) plays a crucial role in cemented waste rock backfill (CWRB) nanoreinforcement. In the present work, an innovative method based on metal intrusion techniques, backscattered electron (BSE) images, and deep learning is proposed to analyze the micro/nanoscale characteristics of microstructures in the GO-enhanced ITZ. The results showed that the addition of GO reduced the interpore connectivity and the porosity at different pore throats by 53.

This study aimed to improve the mechanical properties and microstructure of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) by incorporating carbon fibers (CFs) and nano-SiO (NS) to promote the optimal utilization of RAC. The mechanical properties of the RAC were enhanced by both single and hybrid additions of CFs and NS, and the hybrid addition had a better strengthening effect. From the experimental results, it was found that the addition of CFs could increase the 28 d compressive strength and splitting strength of the RAC by 9.

Rapidly stripping off multiple electrons from the target and triggering complete fragmentation with each constituent atom being charged up are ideal prerequisites for Coulomb explosion imaging. Here, we demonstrate that highly charged ion beam with energy in the Bragg peak region is a powerful tool capable of meeting these requirements. Using the 112.

Here, we study spin-resolved single electron capture processes in collisions between C^{3+} ions and helium within an energy range of 1.25-400 keV/u.

Previous studies indicated that exosomes derived from CAFs might transmit regulating signals and boost esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) development. This study is designed to explore the role and mechanism of CAFs-derived exosomal microRNA-889-3p (miR-889-3p) in ESCC progression.

Methods: Placental tissue samples from GDM patients and normal controls (NC) were collected to measure changes in m6A modification levels.
Background: Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) remains a significant global health concern, with a subset of cases progressing to Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia (SCAP). This study aims to develop and validate a CT-based radiomics model for the early detection of SCAP to enable timely intervention and improve patient outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 115 CAP and SCAP patients at Southern Medical University Shunde Hospital from January to December 2021.
Purpose Of Review: Postoperative analgesia is currently a significant topic in anesthesiology. Currently, the predominant approach for achieving multimodal analgesia involves the utilization of pharmacotherapy and regional anesthesia procedures. The primary objectives of this approach are to mitigate postoperative pain, enhance patient satisfaction, and diminish overall opioid usage.

In this review, we aim to conclude the potential mechanism of gut microbiota and its metabolites on inducing the formation of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque, and to discuss the effect of intestinal metabolites, including trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), lipopolysaccharide (LPS), phenylacetylglutamine (PAG), short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) on plaque stability. Finally, we include the impact of gut microbiota and its metabolites on plaque stability, to propose a new therapeutic direction for coronary heart disease.

Our goal was to detect the risk factors for malignant TI-RADS 3 nodule and to construct a predictive model. All 199 patients with TI-RADS 3 nodule underwent first-time thyroid surgery from January 2018 to September 2021. Univariate analysis identified potential risk covariates and then incorporated these covariates into multivariate logistic regression to determine the risk factors for malignant TI-RADS 3 nodule and construct a predictive model.

The characteristic change of the long-term period after the implementation of the universal two-child policy was unclear. We studied trends in the obstetric characteristics and their potential impact on the rates of cesarean section and preterm birth in the era of China's universal two-child policy.

However, there are significant differences in patients' reactions to chemotherapy, leading to unsatisfactory treatment outcomes. Therefore, identifying relevant factors that affect the efficacy of chemotherapy can help doctors better develop personalized treatment plans, improve the treatment effectiveness, and quality of life of patients.

To determine the optimum dosage of ENT using ROS1 and NTRKA/B/C occupancy in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in drug-drug interactions (DDIs), physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models for healthy subjects and cancer population were developed for ENT and M5 (active metabolite).
Methods: The PBPK models were built using the modeling parameters of ENT and M5 that were mainly derived from the published paper on the ENT PBPK model, and then validated by the observed pharmacokinetics (PK) in plasma and CSF from healthy subjects and patients.
Background: The morbidity and mortality of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) remain high among infectious diseases. It was reported that angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) could be a diagnostic biomarker and a therapeutic target for pneumonia. This study aimed to develop a more objective, specific, accurate, and individualized scoring system to predict the severity of CAP.

Nano-SiO (NS) is widely used in cement-based materials due to its excellent physical properties. To study the influence of NS content on a cement paste and the interfacial transition zone (ITZ), cement paste samples containing nano content ranging from 0 to 2% (by weight of cement) were prepared, and digital image correlation (DIC) technology was applied to test the mechanical properties. Finally, the optimal NS content was obtained with statistical analysis.

Recent studies have shown that NNMT upregulation in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) is required to maintain the CAF phenotype in high-grade serous carcinoma. These observations suggest that NNMT should be evaluated as a therapeutic target, especially in cancer.
