Pathogenic bacteria are the source of many serious health problems, such as foodborne diseases and hospital infections. Timely and accurate detection of these pathogens is of vital significance for disease prevention, control of epidemic spread, and protection of public health security. Rapid identification of pathogenic bacteria has become a research focus in recent years.

With the growing global concern over food safety, the rapid detection and disinfection of foodborne pathogens have become critical in public health. This study presents a novel machine learning-driven fluorescent sensor array utilizing aqueous CsPbBr perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) for the rapid identification and eradication of foodborne pathogens. The relative signal intensity changes (ΔRGB) generated by the sensor array were analyzed using the machine learning algorithm-Support Vector Machine (SVM).

Optical simulations allow the evaluation of the absorption, reflection, and transmission of each functional layer of solar cells and, therefore, are of great importance for the design of high-efficiency crystalline silicon (-Si) solar cells. Here, a multi-scale simulation method (MSM) based on ray and wave optics is proposed to investigate the optical characteristics of -Si solar cells. The ray and wave optical methods are first independently employed on inverted pyramid glass sheets, where the latter one can describe the size-dependent interfacial scattering characteristics more accurately.

As a promising candidate for high-density data storage and neuromorphic computing, cross-point memory arrays provide a platform to overcome the von Neumann bottleneck and accelerate neural network computation. In order to suppress the sneak-path current problem that limits their scalability and read accuracy, a two-terminal selector can be integrated at each cross-point to form the one-selector-one-memristor (1S1R) stack. In this work, we demonstrate a CuAg alloy-based, thermally stable and electroforming-free selector device with tunable threshold voltage and over 7 orders of magnitude ON/OFF ratio.

The overall efficiency and image uniformity are important criteria for augmented reality display. The conventional in-coupling grating design intending to improve only the first-order diffraction efficiency without considering the multiple interactions with diffracted light in the waveguide is insufficient. In this work, the back-coupling loss (BCL) on the in-coupling surface relief grating, and the power of light arriving at the out-coupling grating over that of incident light (denoted as optical efficiency in waveguide, OEW) are introduced for the design of in-coupling grating.

Optoelectronic devices based on high aspect ratio nanowires bring new challenges for transparent electrodes, which can be well addressed by using hybrid structures. Here we demonstrate that a composite contact to radial junction nanowire solar cells made of a thin indium-tin oxide (ITO) layer and silver nanowires greatly improves the collection of charge carriers as compared to a single thick ITO layer by reducing the series resistance losses while improving the transparency. The optimization is performed on p-i-n solar cells comprising of dense non-vertical nanowires with a p-doped c-Si core and an ultra-thin a-Si:H absorption layer grown by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition on glass substrates.

In the quest for the replacement of indium tin oxide (ITO), Ti-doped zinc oxide (TZO) films have been synthesized by atomic layer deposition (ALD) and applied as an n-type transparent conductive oxide (TCO). TZO thin films were obtained from titanium (IV) -propoxide (TTIP), diethyl zinc, and water by introducing TiO growth cycle in a ZnO matrix. Process parameters such as the order of precursor introduction, the cycle ratio, and the film thickness were optimized.

Motor imagery is one of the classical paradigms which have been used in brain-computer interface and motor function recovery. Finger movement-based motor execution is a complex biomechanical architecture and a crucial task for establishing most complicated and natural activities in daily life. Some patients may suffer from alternating hemiplegia after brain stroke and lose their ability of motor execution.

In this study, we report the use of Al₂O₃ nanoparticles in combination with fluorine doped tin oxide (F:SnO₂, aka FTO) thin films to form hazy Al₂O₃-FTO nanocomposites. In comparison to previously reported FTO-based nanocomposites integrating ZnO and sulfur doped TiO₂ (S:TiO₂) nanoparticles (i.e.

In this work, we report on the first successful deposition of Vernier phase yttrium oxyfluoride (V-YOF) thin films on Si (100) wafers using pulsed liquid injection metal organic chemical vapor deposition (PLI-MOCVD). The formation of V-YOF has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction measurements and electron probe microanalysis. The infrared phonon modes of V-YOF thin films and their corresponding optical constants as inferred from spectroscopic ellipsometry are reported here for the first time.
