- The study examined how the dosage of Mycobacterium leprae and the temperature at the inoculation site affected leprosy lesions in immunocompromised T900r mice.
- Different doses of M. leprae (10^4 to 10^7) were injected into the mice's flanks and footpads, with subsequent biopsies taken for analysis at 6, 8, and 12 months.
- Results showed that lower temperatures (31°C) at the inoculation site facilitated both bacterial multiplication and spread, while higher temperatures (37°C) limited replication to high doses without any dissemination.
