The purpose of this study was to report the proportion of venous thromboembolic events (VTE) in patients undergoing primary hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and present a critical overview of the literature to aid in better result interpretation. MedLine, Scopus and Web of Science databases were searched from January 2000 to March 2017. Four thousand-five-hundred and seventy-seven hip cases were included in the meta-analysis of 38 studies.

Purpose: To determine the prevalence of chronic trochanteric bursitis (TB) in patient being treated for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and determine the effectiveness of arthroscopic bursectomy and iliotibial band lengthening (AB-ITB-L) at the time of hip arthroscopy for FAI.

Anterior hip pain can be difficult to diagnose due to the many pathologies and overlapping pain patterns that exist in the hip region. Clinical findings of pain at the anterior inferior iliac spine with passive hip flexion, proximal quadriceps pain and weakness, and painful impingement tests of the hip may be indicative of subspine hip impingement. This report describes the diagnosis and treatment of anterior hip pain, including subspine impingement and femoroacetabular impingement in an elite weightlifter.
